Come on Performance Enhancing Pancakes, you're normally spot on with technical analysis...Devon completed the rep with a 12-second eccentric. He did it at a younger age than Genadi and at a much lighter weight. Genadi's second rep was in an open arm position, which, although immensely impressive, was different from his first. Devon's eccentric and concentric angles were tighter, plus Devon's forearm is at least about an inch longer than Genadi's - thus much more stress on the fulcrum. Additionally, the weights on Genadi's dumbbell freely rotate. In contrast, Devon's primary dumbbell is a fixed hexagonal type, and the weights attached do not rotate. Fighting a non-rotating dumbbell is much tougher than one that rotates. Devon curls it from just below parallel, whilst Genadi curls it from way below parallel too...Devon's lift is way more impressive.

Arm wrestling needs more standardized lifting. Theres still so many differences in between guys doing the “hook training” lift that you still really can’t correctly assess numbers. It would be more beneficial to just strict curl a single dumbbell than try something like that to gauge elbow flexor strength.

For Levans 134kg curl I disagree with you. I think 100% of the weight is on his bicep. He probably got into position and held it vertically with his arm on the bench. Whilst doing that it was pure compressive force on his forearm. But then once he lowered it out of vertical it attacked his bicep like a mofo. And his elbow itself is at 90 degrees so it’s the same joint angle that Devon had.
