Had a similar situation happen here in Michigan on waterfowl opener last weekend. We were hunting a prime pond on state land, we were 4 men deep. And an individual walked in, and seen us when we he got near the water, and he was going to leave because he realized we were already there but we told him to stay and hunt with us, and we’ve created a great friendship out of it so far. Turned out to be a really cool guy.

Duck hunting on the Mullica River here in NJ...a few years ago we had a person in a boat continued to harass us throughout the morning by riding up and down the river scaring the ducks trying to land in our spead ! Luckily we took down his boat registration number...as we were packing up to leave, he decided to untie my boat from the shore and set it a drift, Luckily for me I also set the stern anchor out before setting up our blind . Took pictures and videos, called the DNR and shared my information on him.....not sure what came from it, but we never saw him again for the rest of the season !

I hunted Rush Lake for a couple of years. Because of my work schedule, I rarely got to hunt the mornings. I finally got to hunt the morning with a buddy and went out early and found a place to set up. There are many permanent blinds. We were down about 40 yards from one but was there and setup before anyone came out. A guy came out and was going to use the blind. I shined my light on my decoys and me to let him know we were there. He went ballistic! The old "I have hunted here for 30 years! Why don't you just hunt in my damn blind, blah, blah, blah! Then he says "are you going to move or what? My buddy's father-in-law was in the same hunting club as this guy and didn't want to start anything since he hunted with his father-in-law sometimes. We graciously moved to a small bay. We were getting some shooting and sure enough this guy and another hunter, came back there and setup! Oh I chewed his ass! We were done shortly after that. On the way in to shore, the guy still had his decoys out in the original spot! I could have been a jerk and called the DNR on him for unattended decoys. Some of these guys think that they own the lake or hunting spot because "they have been hunting here so long".

I've had these group of hunter called duck slayers they have about 30 people in the little clan. every single one of them are trouble makers they will call game warden if your in there spot. or if they cant get any birds and I'm getting some they will call the game warden just to ruin our hunt there's this one old man name Blake he's the worst he came over and scream at me for sky blasting but every shot i knock 1 or 2 goose. or he will walk right in front of me from 50 yards out, the worst thing he does I was with my dad and we scouted some snow geese in the corn field Blake decided to walk around us to the other side until he was in front of us. we moved forward to go try and jump the snow geese but when Blake saw us he shot the ground scaring all the geese up and going over him. After that he started to yell at us because I was about 17 he messes with all the younger hunter. once we got closer and my dad took off his camo ski mask down once he realized that I wasn't with my friends and that it was my dad he kept apologizing to my father. I've always told my dad about them but never believed me unit he saw it with there own eyes. OHH I just remembered once of the duck slayers lost his hunting forever because my father and I where in a great spot with lots of ducks after he realized we took his spot he got all mad starting yelling at us about 200 yards and decided to shoot at my father and I those bbs defiantly hurt a little he ran back to his truck and took off we called game warden they said call the cops we did after we did 15 minutes where talking to a officer they said they got a man a few miles and they needed us to identify him once we got there it was the same guy that shot at us. the man said he was shooting a duck which there was not and started to lie. after i said i got it on my gopro he change his story again i showed them the footage clearly showing him turning around shoot and run. Sorry for the long story but the duck slayers are never allowed to hunt the land again its a private land called laravicks in Stanwood Washington and need to buy a pass for $20 to hunt there for the year.

Hunter Harassment has been coming in all different types as of late.... Last year had a guy come in on us two weekends out of three. Said well you could set up down from us and he would just kinda ignore us and said well we will set up right over here. 10 yards from us the first day and mixed his decoys in with ours.... then the 2nd day he was 30 away from us and took mostly passing shots at ducks decoying. I posted a vid on it and man is it irritating. We talked to the DNR and they were baffled and said next time if it happens they would for sure come out because even though it wasn't confrontational that they would consider that harrassment since it was the same guy and we even tried to get him to move and invited to hunt with us so it wouldn't ruin both of our hunts....

I’m so confused by this video. Does he own the blind or does he own the land and the blind? He said “land” and you said “spot”. Where I am from, you would be the one that is illegal/trespassing. That is assuming he owned the land and you were trying to use the “public water/navigable water” excuse. I know we aren’t talking about the same state though.

His family owns the land up to the water which is behind me about 50 yds. As long as we stay on the water from a public access and hide in the cattails that have water (not dry land) we can hunt anywhere. He has a very small blind that is in ruin on the cattail point which anyone could build because its public land.

If you enter a spot on public water and stay in your boat while hunting it’s completely fine. Once your feet hit the ground and it’s on private land you’re 100% in the wrong

Maybe you should have taken your own advice. You wanted to be in that spot for a reason? Just like he did Maybe its easier for his dog to make retrieve from his chosen spot. I feel what you did was no different from the guy who walks into woods on opening day of deer season. And sets up several yards from someone hunting out of a tree stand.

I respect that on a weekend but on a thursday morning on land that is open to the public via water I can set up. This "BLIND" is a couple 2x4s sticking out of the mud... there was no sign of hunting in the blind when I got there...I knew the 'blind' was there for about 10 yrs.... it was litterally a couple boards sticking out (like a dog platform) I am a respectable hunter and I do not try to intrude on other peoples areas
