Something different for me. The nice people at Zbanx sent me a Creality Falcon 2, 40w laser engraver to play with. In addition they also sent me the honeycomb bed and a enclosure with an extractor fan which worked brilliantly. I have never used a laser engraver before so I am not qualified to offer a review, but I can say that I was blown away by the capability of this machine and ease of use. I designed the clock in Lightburn, which I had never used before, but with the aid of a few tutorials on KZitem I was able to make this clock as my first project. I did a couple of test pieces first but that's all. The wood I used was 6mm Elm hardwood. I had the 40 watt laser set to 70% power and it cut through very easily the whole thing took about 20 minutes to cut out.
Check out the video and links below for all that technical stuff that I don't really understand
The honeycomb bed and protective cover shown in this video are optional extras.
