Having been using my X1C for a couple weeks now, I can’t see how a business would choose either of these over the X1C unless they absolutely needed those extra 50mm in build volume. Great review as usual!

If you're using a printer for business, unless it's like an Etsy shop or something, you probably want a support contract. BambuLab doesn't sell onsite repairs or anything for its printers, so that's probably a no-go for a lot of business use cases. This is why people spend silly money on Ultimakers with SLAs (even though Ultimakers are overpriced for what they are)

Not a fan of CR printers. Well I own both Ender 3 Pro and CR 6 SE through their kickstarter. Not very impressed because of their ongoing support. One big issue is they keep releasing their printers but ignore the software improvements. Now I am happy with my X1C and it works very well.

There is no comparison. The D3 is 4 or 5 years out of date, just like the Guider 3. They went all in on improving a 5 years old feature set, rather than trying to push things forwards, and as a result, they released a ready-made fossil.

The only printer that can compete with the bambu is the voron. Even then it depends on the parts and who builds it. A really nice voron will also cost over 2k and won’t have an ams. I think this year we will see multi toolhead changers for the Voron due to the release of the Prusa XL tech.

Great review Aurora and team. Like the depth and break down. Maybe I am off my rocker…. 6 mil plate and you still need to turn a knob? Also how old is the tech and design of the s3 compared to their newer revised products for comparison? While I do not think the X1c is God- I feel it has more features vs the d3 for the price.Yes it’s smaller, however I feel Bambu has done more updating on their firmware then Creality ever does. Also what PSU brand is being used? Bambu at least has a Delta. Once the D3 pro plus ultra is out, the D3 will be left out in the cold. Just ask the ender 7, cr200B and I am sure there are others.

For the price you have to pay, it would make sense to include sonic pad in the release. As far as network printing goes, maybe the users should have dual band routers, also look for upgrades in the network card, or Creality should have installed a dual band network card. As a designer, I’m into keeping my cad files OFF the cloud unless creality would support copyrights to the user. Outside of this, I will never recommend cloud printing on so many levels. This interview video was excellent.

The evaluation of the category "dual extruder" actually only has the quality "present" or "not present". To award ten points here and thus open up the possibility that a printer with a dual extruder can make up for up to 10 points from other categories, while the competitor model necessarily receives zero points, is a very big lopsidedness in the rating. A rating with a maximum of two or three points in this category seems appropriate: "present/absent", "precision in handling and changing the filament / in maintenance"," precision in printing". I haven't rechecked it, but the stability and surface quality of the print bed and print surface "out of the box", could also be a quality criterion that could show up in the list. Otherwise, another very nice test with a calm presentation and the usual structure in the execution. 😘

The idea that this printer is anything but a complete failure to compete against the likes of the bambulabs x1 is hilarious. 2500 vs 1300 and the quality and speed are way better than the d3. To me, the ultimaker isnt exactly a fair comparison mostly because its much older. Interesting to see how print quality has improved over the years. Personally though, based on the intro of the sermoon d3 in the beginning, it seems it isnt really that cutting edge? I mean it is meant towards industry and for reliability, but not even using linear rails feels a bit off.

Creality may be famous for dominating the market, but they are also famous for poor quality components and electronics. How many of those wires in crimp connectors are tinned? Creality is notorious for making a new “model printer” every three months. This one will quickly be abandoned for a “new” version. You have a solid support system behind an Ultimaker. Creality support … not so much.

You should have printed the same gcode in both printers. All models you show, except for the cube, are different from one printer to the other, generally the D3 is missing a lot of details, starting with the benchy (see the chimney, is missing the overhang), Eiffel tower has single-pole supports all around while the other has double-poles, etc. I would not use a slicer that kills my model to make it smoother or print it faster. D3 slicer used in this video sucks. Also, they didn't "miss" the dual extruder, they had launched the D3-Pro at the same time, with dual extruder, but about 700 bucks more. (You can see that I am not a fan of any of these two companies 🤫). Otherwise, the review is quite good, except a bit biased 🤪. Kudos.

As someone who use both industrial (stratasys) and prusa printers (we used ultimaker before the prusa) this creality is just worthless compared to the mentioned printers.
