Dame being in the locker room and walking out completely alone to his first fight, as well as his glances at Donny looking for approval between rounds were just incredible to me. I felt like his flip to villain occurred after that first round when he looked at Donny cheering for Felix. You can tell he feels a tremendous amount of hurt that his only family left him behind. Majors transformed in a way I don’t think any other actor could’ve. Down to the mannerisms, he convinced me he’s a man with nothing to lose and willing to get it by any means. He thinks Donny is a sellout and he is owed everything he wants, I seriously questioned if he may have been right, rooted for him to win the belt in that first fight even after I saw him cheating because I felt so bad. He is the most sympathetic villain I have seen in a long time
@nfrance999

Totally agree. I think Dame up until that point was still on the fence about what Adonis had done as a child, but after that fight it sealed the deal that to Dame, Adonis really had always been a fairweather friend. I think a lot of people paint Dame as always having planned this cunning plan out, when in reality I think the only thing he actively did plan was for the attack on Drago, everything else that followed was just how events played out.

Its an excellent effort by Jordan. But there is one scene where Rocky had to be there and his unexplained absence dishonours the character. Indeed that whole section would be improved with Rocky passing on some sage advice based on his experience of what we are seeing Adonis encounter for a first time . I know there has been a falling out but it was weak not to address the elephant in the room (or oerhaps not in the room) in that particular scene and all oarties should have realised that

It's so simple yet so effective that their lives go in radically different paths after one very bad night. One of them isn't caught, just so happens to be the child out of wedlock of this world's version of Muhammad Ali which gets him a step mom who lives in a mansion and later trained by Rocky, his metaphorical uncle. The other went to prison for 18 years That's a perfect starting place.

It's just staggering in general that the Rocky franchise is still going strong. I think every film is good to great, even Rocky V. This movie needed a longer 2nd half. I really enjoyed this movie but Creed should’ve agreed to the fight earlier. Or better yet, just add an extra 20-30 mins in the 2nd half. It honestly felt like a load of build up to what the trailer promised, then the press-conference/smack talk/ final fight was over in no time. The only way they could’ve made this movie better with little tweaking to the current story, is to have Dame win at the end, leaving an Infinity war esque ending. That would’ve been cold.

Amazing analysis Respectfully tho, I disagree about the score. I've listened to it more than the other creed scores and find it to be powerful and emotional. I think Micheal has done a great job with his career, but the frist 2 creeds are great because of rocky and his interactions with Adonis. Going into the third movie Micheal had everything already set up for him. He didn't have to create anything. I mean if you really break it down creed 3 is just rocky 3. He just took what others (sly) had created and didn't really add much to it. Don't get me wrong I enjoy the creed movies and look forward to more. I have a hot take but don't hate me it's just my opinion though I disagree I want a creed 4 I love these characters to death the only person I would person I would miss is Adonis Adoptive mother Mary Anne Creed because her scene dying in the hospital bed made me cry even after a second viewing...I love Rocky don't get me wrong but this is Adonis Creed story... In Creed 4 it can be about maybe if Dame still has doubts maybe in Creed 4 in the opening fight have a rematch boxing fight and Adonis is not focused on the fight due to his past haunting him again then they will show flashbacks to Donnie's past with Apollo's kids mistreating Adonis and her biological mother was on the phone talking to someone probably money issues going to lose the house then cuts back to Creed getting hit left in right and Creed goes for the blow with his left hand to confuse Dame but Dame won't go done and gives Donnie some body shots. Creed then get's unfocused on the fight his wife bianca starts freaking out then one more flashback of Donnie's abusive father drinking beer to much keeps going to the mini mart to get beer 5 days before Adonis beats him up then it will go to his abusive father or should I say his step dad was yelling at his mom and apollo's kids and donnie wouldn't do anything about it his step dad starts yelling and hitting his mom because of money issues and also due to almost losing the house due to her mom unable to keep a job because she keeps getting laid off due to the economy she tries to explain it but keeps getting cutoff and says always excuses and threw his beer glass bottle to the tv shattering it pissing off donnie and apollo's kids just walked off and went to their bedroom up stairs then Donnie finally get's out of bad memory dream before being brutishly murdered and little duke stands up in shock while dame gives his final hit to the face of Adonis and just won't give up and go down they started trading shots then Donnie hit dame really hard and dame almost hits the floor and got up just in time and shook is head yes and whispered yes to the refugee and made the count and the announcer says I can't believe they are still on their feet then Creed hits Dame five times in the rib cage on the 11th round the bell rings and they all tried to go back to their seats but dame touches Creed's head like Apollo creed did to Rocky and Adonis tries to fight back and the refugee sends them to their sits then adonis teeth piece comes out hard and his teeth starts bleeding and his trainer little duke says you want me to call it creed refuses to give up because his a fighter he can take a beating because his dangerous like rocky said to him on the little duke will say that to him and knock dame to his senses make him respect you no pain no pain no pain like little duke evers father said to rocky in the rounds of rocky 4 of rocky then little duke says now knock this son of bitch down can you do it and creed says yes i'll knock that son of a bitch down and stands and the theme from the first creed film plays in the background his wife comes to him and says to him win beat this dude up your my fighter make dame listen your my heart and my love but says it using sign language but whispering it to him so he can understand them starts attacking dame but dame still won't go down acting like rocky rolling pouches like apollo creed and adonis knocked dame out and fell all the way to the ropes and is holding on to the ropes and trying to get up for more tensity and the refugee keeps counting to 10 he is on 6 and dame's girlfriend shown in creed 3 of dame talking on the phone with donnie on live tv she was the one watching tv she screams get up while getting out of her chair then the refugee counts 9 and then 10 dame hits the floor the final bell went off with the classic rocky going the distance theme going in the background while news reporters glam over to adonis and dame gets help getting up by his trainer and creed gives a speech saying anybody can change anybody can change and dame comes over and gives donnie a big hug and says thanks for everything that you try to do we all make mistakes in our life apollo creed would be proud i'm proud of you for the person you became I agree we got to let the past be the past and give a big hand shake and fist bump then will freeze frame on Creed and fade to black say Adonis Creed will return then there will be a mid credits scene with rocky at his wife and his friend paulie's grave site plus showing another person he first met in the original rocky film has died which is marie that rocky walked home when she was a kid smoking telling her not to do it... and it shows a picture in a frame of marie, rocky, holding punchy the dog in his hands plus marie's son. and then shows the grave of the dog playing that classic rocky piano from the rocky films plus shows adrain's tomb and paulie tomb one more time with rocky taking his hat off and praying he lost his friends and the love of his life including spider rico who he fought in the beginning of the first rocky film plus his church was torn down and rocky is looking at his memory photos of his wife his first dog butkus, that died prior to Rocky 3 storyline.. plus paulie and him together with paulie holding a bottle of whiskey over rocky's shoulder. and fades to black and says rocky will return... Let me know what you think of this idea for creed 4 more about creed's family with his wife and daughter amara and damian and creed friendship now can be explored in creed 5 I want this to be mosly a brutal intense boxing movie with a match throughout the movie with a rematch with damian that's more darker than the 3rd film explored with a hard pg13 rating... It will have great character arcs and great filmaking by Michael B Jordan
