Remember in the first game where the turrets where only a quarter of the size of a city meant for 50 thousand/million (can't remember which one. Want to say million). Not to mention that each level is another planet. I do agree that the trees do help a lot with remembering that mind you.

For your trees Maybe the engery collectors could be more efficient in areas with life. That would give an incentive to protect those areas. And the trees would very slowly spread but you could accalerate it with a drone or so, that picks trees up and plants them in a barren area from where they start spreading again. In general I like the idea of not just fighting the keeper but trying to restore the world. Gives another incentive to fight besides not getting killed by the creeper

Something to give the rockets an even better feel could be to have the audio transition from left to right as it passes out of visual range (real rockets turn east after they clear the thick part of the atmo). Also maybe a sonic boom when an orbital is dropped for some satisfying audio feedback
@hainekohanefuwa5308
5 жыл бұрын
An interesting addition to the orbitals might be a repulsion warhead that causes an extremely high amplitude pulse forcing creeper away from a point, somewhat like a super-short duration reverse singularity. Could useful for gaining a foothold on a piece of elevated terrain, or point-countering massive waves.

@bobbys332

I would argue not so much. The rain clearly destroys creeper (maybe anti creeper too, could be indiscriminate) and the damper just slows it down and calms it down. Its still going to behave like creeper with no real push, just slowed. A repulsion Warhead would actively push it away and would make for a very interesting knock on effect. As it would essentially create a big wave pushing it away might clear one area but force a giant wave to overflow another. Plus you could use it to move your own anti creeper out of a hole, that could make for an interesting move too. Have a big deep hole for a level (making getting out tough with limited space) but then getting a repulse to work on your anti creeper to overflow the next levels would be very neat.

A simple way to do it would be to allow players to add songs to the CW4 default playlist. I wouldn't even mind having to copy the tracks into the CW4 folders, as long as they're added to the music rotation properly. Also, a "shuffle tracks" option. I mean, it's not a bad thing but I have the order of CW3 songs embedded in my head : whenever a song comes out randomly in my playlist, as soon as it ends, I subconsciously start singing the song that usually come next.

Those buried things, could also be creeper nodes. Combined with eroding terrain you showcased earlier this could be handy way to put lore friendly means for creeper to intensify over time, giving players time to build up before the full onslaught of creeper comes along. [Edit] Also if you could terp over creeper nodes, this could provide alternative method of neutralizing the nodes, for missions where for whatever reason nullifiers are not present. (Being developed, or someone misplaced the blueprint) So, suppress the node enough to give terp chance to drop mounds of eroding dirt on it, then just ensure no creep gets to erode the dirt away and problem moved for future to solve.

Looks great, it really makes me want to play the game. Though game play is obviously the most important, it seems to me that the addition of VR would suit this game especially well because of the importance of the heights in the landscape (besides the huge cool factor to be able to see the level and your military complex growing in it in 3D). Imagine sitting in the middle of the level (some 3x3 metres and/or scalable), grabbing and repositioning your units with your hands/controllers... The VR community would go nuts for a game like this, instabuy!

Every time I watch one of these videos I get even more excited for the full game. Keep up the good work, already looking amazing. I can't wait to play this once it is completed. On a side note digging up the erns made me think of people using terps to build high paths across maps in creeper world 3 videos. It would be cool to see another color of creeper that flows up hills and builds up on high places as a way to throw a wrench in those strategies. Finding ways to counter existing strategies is a good way to push players out of their comfort zones. I think the idea of different colored sections of creeper on a single map would be cool to force you to use different strategies in different areas at the same time.

I am so looking forward to play this game. The erns are a lot like particle fleet, with the simplicity from the first game . The physical moving about is a fun addition. I really like the factorio like copy mouseover system. It’s play enhancing system like that and the ‘drag to build units in a line’ that makes the game feel less indie-like. It removes the focus from the HUD to the playing field, helping players stay immersed. The second game also did this great by having the keyboard shortcuts close together in the area most players already have their hand. I’m not saying that everything should have a keyboard shortcut, just the 20% that we are using 80% of the play time. For some reason sound made by moving units while the game was paused reminded me of the first age of empires. No idea why. Happy Development

Also, perhaps a checkbox or volume slider for the rocket specifically could be good; i understand that it's a big weapon, it's supposed to be exciting and a single one can turn around a battle so the player might want the sound as a notification that it's ready, but rockets can be quite loud.Overall the game is looking really good though and i find it quite interesting to see how some ideas evolve or get discarded.
