This one hits really close to home guys. My ex-husband's cousin is "Russ" the creepy loser! Talk about divine intervention. I met my ex in 2004 we married in 2010. I left my ex on March 25 2015 after he was arrested for DV assault. he had held a gun on me and hurt me pretty badly. I left him and fought to protect our 2 daughters. I had to FIGHT to keep them safe. it's a very long story, one that could have ended much differently. with the family court and DHHS almost failing my girls. my saving grace was that I worked in the anti-trafficking movement and had resources. my ex waged a war I had a PFA order that was violated numerous times and nothing was ever done despite evidence. he put bullets in our mailbox, broke in, and let the dog out, thank god we found her! One of the things my ex did was type out notes with threats and tape them to my door. one of these notes read "Maybe you'll disappear like Amy did! Russ wasn't alone" This terrified me. I had learned of Amy from my ex. he told me he was the one who told the police where Amy was. they had asked him if Russ was going to hide a body where would he do it and my ex pointed it out to them, she was found right near my ex's house (66 County Rd 68 county rd was my ex's grandmother's house where russ's mom lived)off a trail by the pond where my ex took me fishing, in Scarborough. he even had a photo that he took of her grave and had framed and wrote a small poem under it. It didn't feel right to me! I am not saying he had anything to do with it but he defiantly used it to scare the hell out of me and I still can't help but wonder. I am just grateful he doesn't see either of our daughters anymore. Amy's family are amazing people and Amy will never be forgotten. Her legacy lives on 🙏

I do not understand the parents that cover or lie for their children. When I watch these types of things with my mother (we are both true crime fans) she agrees with me. If your parents know you do something wrong, then they should be making you face the consequences. My stepdad did this with his kids, and my mother and father did this with my brother. It's what kept him out of jail because he stopped being an idiot.

I feel like people from Maine and people from the northwest coast seem to identify with each other and pay more attention to what goes on, or maybe they take in events everywhere but because they can picture the aforementioned more vividly and feel more connected to the case they are subconsciously more inclined to pursue a deep dive than other people who are drawn in to zany headline grabbing Florida,Texas and Ohio cases or maybe have difficulty actually aquiring info that isn't common knowledge or easy to dig up online that is from smaller places and the procedures of calling a small police department and having the right approach to gain a rapport and access comes easier? Because this seems to be a two way street. I live in the north east and know people who lived in Maine and they seem in tune to the lesser known cases of the northwest... maybe people move from Maine to the northwest and vice versa? In the UK we have a code name .People who feel unsafe, vulnerable or threatened can discreetly seek help by approaching venue staff and asking them for ‘Angela’. This code-phrase will indicate to staff that they require help with their situation and a trained member of staff will then look to support and assist them. This might be through reuniting them with a friend, seeing them to a taxi, or by calling venue security and/or the police
@Erebus.666.

This could be helpful if it were well known. I'm a UK resident and have never heard of this. I even worked as a bouncer on many bars and nightclubs. Still never heard of this. Ladies, don't expect this to help as the majority of bar and nightclub staff have no idea about this. Just ask for help in plain language. You don't need to hide your intent from the risk as security can remove you from the dangerous area, or even call police to get you safely away. Don't try relying on so called code words that nobody knows about.

My mother once dated a man, was considering marrying him, and it turned out she looked exactly like his mother. His mother had died when he was small, and my mother had no idea until she went to meet his father. She said that his father was visibly shaken when she arrived, but recovered and was very polite. They went into the dining room for dinner, and there was a portrait of his mother on the wall. She said that she nearly threw up, because it looked like it was of HER. Same age, same hairstyle, a carbon copy. The boy’s father put his hand on her shoulder, to steady her, and she realized exactly what was up. She ended the relationship the next day. I wonder what kind of Mommy issues Russ had, if he wanted to kill Amy because she looked like his mother…

They use them for not only showing when nerves spike, because it doesn't actually detect lies. Just when blood pressure and other things make the needle jump. They also use them to physically see how they act during it. Their body language and facial expressions. It is also to make them nervous and hopefully slip up, in some cases. It's inadmissible because it can and has been infallible. Anxiety doesn't help. Being nervous for the simple reason you have to do it and some questions could just freak you out because of the nitty gritty of them. Oh, and they can also use it to be like, "Well on this it indicated you were lying", cuz it's ok for a detective to lie while interviewing knowing damn well other factors take into play and it is infallible.

There is so much hurt and pain in this world, and while it is also important to live in the moment and enjoy all the good, if there's one thing I know for certain, it's that Amy and all the other many people who have lost their lives unjustly due to the malice of others matter just as much as whatever is going on in the present with me and my life. Their memories and legacies are important, and even more so, the very true notion that any of us could be the next Amy. It is all too common for people to die under these circumstances. That was a beautiful telling of this tragedy. The first thing that struck me was what a beautiful girl. I could not believe that he did not get life and that they were considering letting him out early on parole. I think the father was right on asking for the death penalty. He's shown no remorse and was creeping the sister out. I personally think there should be penalties for this sort of behaviour. Maybe an extra twenty years inside or something like that. I've heard of some cock a many reasons and excuses for murder but this is unbelivable. Because she looked like his mother really?? ... Crazy. Thank you for showing this case. And yes as a footnote I agree Maine is too soft on hardened criminals.

I agree. His psychotic behavior and his mother's disgusting behavior are horrible. Senseless murders these days. I'll only live in a State i can pack a gun. Im trained physically ....but not taking chances So sorrowful;what a kind soul Amy sounded. Beautiful on the outside, as the inside. RIP.

Im confused by the last part tho. Why would standing up in a night club and saying " im nervous about the man i came here with and he has my purse and cell phone in his car" have helped in this situation? I thought the dude she came with that she was nervous about was innocent? In fact, it was the dude that was gonna "help" her out essentially that actually became rhe killer. And why would self defense courses help when youre on GHB? Maybe the parents got confused

I'm curious as to why u guys can't say rape or sexual assault but other videos with crime stories the person telling the story say those words!Can u tell me why that is?I watch and subscribe to all the crime stories here on utube but I still appreciate u both as u are very respectful and well versed in the story u are telling!

I too am a crime story nut,but I think most the ones that do say rape are bots...I always wondered about that as well
@haleyrose9751
7 ай бұрын
Right most of those are bots otherwise it's a corporate thing. On their ends videos get demonetized by using those words not suitable for children, even though children shouldn't be watching True Crime anyway, if they uncensored themselves they wouldn't earn and can't get paid money for people watching/clicking the video. Unless there's an added separate sponsorship.

We need less foundations about teaching women to protect themselves and more foundations teaching men and boys to not hurt women. We have so many foundations devoted to helping women protect themselves but nothing to attack why we even need those foundations.
@SlippyHit

Yeah, no. As a woman, I need to be able to defend myself against evil people who are going to not listen to what's right and hurt women anyways. We teach people not to murder, and they commit murder anyways. Comments like this put the blame on the entire male gender. This is divisive and toxic. I don't like living in a world where a small portion of evil men prey on women, but that's reality. Shame on you for putting the onus on the entire male gender. More women kill children than men do, is your argument that we should "teach women not to kill children" or do you believe that our entire gender isn't responsible for the actions of a few?

Yes it's a horrible case and I do hope the family and friends can emotionally recover after this traumatic time. But 33:00 saying it's 'known for incapacitating women so men can take advantage of them' (among a few other things in the video) seems like it completely disregards all other victims of this type of drugging/abuse/sexual assault who aren't women or are preyed upon by men.

Amy's story is going to be remembered by me forever because I went through a very similar thing as a kid. My mom married a man who was on the run for SA of a 3 year old that shared my name. What was scary is that the mother of baby Haley had the same name as my mom. He wanted to create his own little sick replay I guess. My mom hid this information from me until I found a letter from the Feds about him and what he did. I confronted her and then called CPS myself because I was so scared for all 5 of my other sisters and my mom. She was sick with stage 3 cancer so he preyed on her and she didn't see what was wrong bc her mind was slowly slipping and she didn't want to be alone knowing she will not win the fight. When mom passed it felt more like a blessing than pain because 1 she didn't have to fight anymore and 2 when her obituary went into the papers it listed him as servicing spouse and in doing so the feds was finally able to location him and the day he went to pick her ashes up from the funeral home they was there and took him in with in minutes of walking out the doors. To me I feel like my mom even though she was weak in her body she was mighty in her spirit and because of that her spirit protected us and got justice for baby Haley too by making things right. I never blamed her she was terminal and he used that to his benefits. I was there even after all of as kids got placed with family I still stayed because she needed us and I was scared I was going to wake up and learn he took my mommy out of some sick revenge from his past or worse but instead mom parted this world making things right and that I am thankful for ❤ so Amy will be carried in my heart right by mom and maybe she will know even though I Didn't get the honors to meet this bright girl that she was loved unconditionally all over the world

I remember hearing this case from his perspective and you guys did not differ much at all! i wrote a letter to Russ once, as a piece of my studies he doesn't speak to anyone regarding the case, probably especially not those who are students of someone who put him away..lol its so interesting that the toll he accidentally hit is the thing that 100% ruled Rubright out for them!
