It's so easy to make juicy & crispy goose legs in the oven. Served with a delicious dark goose sauce. Simple recipe, stress-free preparation and very easy to prepare. This is a traditional German Christmas recipe!
Recipe for 2 goose legs (enough for 2 people):
- 2 goose legs
- salt
- 2 carrots
- 100 g celeriac
- 1 onion
- 1 tbsp tomato puree
- 1 tsp powdered sugar
- 100 ml port wine
- 100 ml red wine
- 500 ml goose stock or water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 star anise
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 cloves
- 4 allspice grains
- freshly ground pepper
- some fresh thyme
- 2 tbsp dried mugwort
- some orange peel (optional)
- 1 tsp cornflour

You can also prepare the recipe for several people. Then simply use more goose legs. You can leave the amount of vegetables the same, but I would use around 250 ml extra goose stock per additional goose leg so that you have enough sauce.
