Yes, more colors please. Love Softee Cotton. Love Bundle Up. Recently discovered 24/7 Cotton. It’s perfect for bags, hot pads, etc. But all the various cotton yarns definitely need more colors. I hope you’re successful in finding more options. I live on Amelia Island in Florida which is a very small community. We are limited to a Joann’s, but it’s one of their smaller stores. When I order from yarnpirations, I order a ton of yard to justify the shipping charges. So affordable yarn is definitely necessary. Cyndi, that blanket is so beyond. Love that you broke up the stitch pattern. I will definitely be making that little jewel. Tiffany, I too buy boutique yarn when traveling. However, I now limit myself to one or two skeins and make squares out of them with the intent to one day join all the squares.

Yes, I agree, the value yarns are great. And like you said to buy enough of the fancy stuff for a larger project, over 1,000 yards even, is too big of an investment for me. And I don’t want to be stressing later either over something happening to my precious blanket, lol. Plus, what makes it a real treasure to me is the handmade factor.

Aww. You'll be missed 🫶👋 crochet sisters !!! Thank you for sharing all of your creativity and for all of the laughs every week. ❤ Wishing you both a wonderful summer. The grand babies coordinating outfits are so darling. I love the wedding blanket Cyndi. Yes! being able to zone out yet stay interested is a delicate balance. I also want affordable yarn - but not a fan of acrylic - for gifting. So ,the cotton combinations in more colors would be fabulous!!!! (Or maybe bamboo mixes?) I believe you are right that crochet is a spiritual type meditation /expression - especially when you're praying for the person it's being made for. (except a little less praying goes on when dealing with yarn 🤮 tangles, 🤬 lol) For me, it beats standing on my head waiting for enlightenment! lol😅

I use the luxury wool yarns from upscale yarn stores for shawls and sweaters, but it's expensive. I've spent $200-300 on a sweater--and then sometimes I don't love the fit once it's made. I also knit with luxury yarn, but not crochet because crochet eats up more yarn. One thing I love about your patterns is the affordability to explore and try new projects without having to make a big financial investment.

I totally agree on looking for and finding affordable, every day yarn 🧶 My favorite thing to crochet is also baby blankets and for years my go-to yarn has been Caron Simply Soft yarn. In the last few years I’ve been trying my hand with cotton yarn and I really like the finished products. Sadly, there are not too many color choices. Right now I like the Bernat and the K&C (Essential?) from Joann’s. I’ve used the Lion Brand 24/7 and I think the cotton is too “stiff” 🤔 I will welcome new affordable cotton and cotton blend options for my projects. Ladies, it’s always a pleasure to watch your videos 😊

Love the grey hair. Lots of women have beautiful long grey hair. Bernat softee cotton does need more colours. Very limiting to creativity. Affordable is very important especially these days. I've made many great baby blankets using mill ends of bernat baby soft. Love daisy farm pattern and have purchased a couple of books. They are beautiful and simple and relaxing. Thanks so much for that. Keep them coming please!

18 years ago I spent $75 on yarn from my LYS for a baby blanket for my niece. She still sleeps with her blanket eighteen years later. I don't think she would even still have it if I used "big box" yarn.

Hi ladies Thank you both for all you do to encourage & support us all that we ‘can’ do the projects. I’m going to ‘try’ a gingham blanket some time soon as we are heading into winter here in Australia 🇦🇺 and that will keep me warm while I make it. I’m currently making a C2C king size blanket for my bed with Lion Brand Mandala ombré and I’m loving it. Hope you both have a lovely break and I look forward to seeing you them. Love to you both ❤❤

I don’t use value yarns, as most are too scratchy for blankets or wearables. Redheart is a no-no for me. But I love Bernat Softee Cotton, Softee Baby, Bundle Up, & even their Velvet line (though they are tricky to work with); Lion Brand Homespun, Mandala Ombre, & Heartland; Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn is a fave. Cost is always a factor so I agree it’s important to buy on sale but color choices sometimes determine the brand & type required. I don’t buy expensive specialty yarn because it isn’t practical. A $40-$45 baby blanket, made a bit bigger than the store bought ones, is a great gift that lasts way past the baby stage & is always appreciated by the Moms! I love visiting with you gals during chats. Crochet, hair, menopause….whatever! 🥰👍☕️🍩

I also look for affordable yarns. I stick with Hobby Lobby because of the color choices and the softness of the yarn. I also use Caron and Bernat brands for baby blankets. I look for the sales especially at Hobby Lobby. I make afghans only and mostly as gifts for friends and family. I find that people don’t want to pay for your time and hours you put into a blanket so I don’t sell any of my work.

I had a question on the Caron Halo baby texture blanket. Comments are turned off on the video so asking her. There are some rows on the beginning where you went to start a row at the 2nd stitch but after did the first stitch for slip. So confusing. Can you help??
