I agree, it's better than the studio version.There was another copy of this on KZitem that cut the ending off, but this one goes on too long. There's no reason to include the introduction of the next song (on the album). For just the song, this can be cut at about 8:12. Or at 8:45 to include the "second time we ever" comment.

I love the organic flow of this version. Feels like THIS is the way they'd want the song to be. the studio versjon to me is one of the easiest ways of what a producer what the musicians brought back then. Studio version is still great, no doubt... which shows the brilliance of this song. This live version here though is on the top shelf next to the cookie jar!

A true classic. I'll never get over that wonderful version on Woodstock, the movie. Yes there was some very good Sunshine coursing through my system, but the music took it beyond Heavenly. I had goosebumps through the whole 'hymn', for that is what it sounded like. ❤😊

By the time CSN (with Young hiding out of sight) took the stage at Woodstock around 3 AM Monday, the audience was vastly diminished - the mass exodus beginning after the legendary drenching thunderstorm on Sunday afternoon which not only soaked the audience and created tons of mud, but dropped the temperature to the upper 60s. With no more sun to warm them. (In the movie you can see them leaving during the storm.) The exodus continued all the rest of Sunday and all through the Monday AM darkness, with only about 20-30 thousand remaining for Jimi Hendrix to close the festival Monday morning.

Well, in all honesty, this makes me sad. Sad because I had no idea why so many young-uns were excited to go to Woodstock back in 1969. I felt I should just continue working. So, those guys drove upstate to attend a mess. BUT, when I heard this (much later), I was (and still am) enthralled and totally hooked!!!!1 This is MY personal favorite Rock Era performance over all others. And, that includes Tommy, the Wall, Who's Next, all terrific albums. But, Sweet Judy Blue Eyes from Woodstock takes the cake!

The last word in spanish 7:23 of Stills say something like that: Que viva y me recuerdo a Cuba la reina de la mar caribe quiero solo visitarme ahí y que triste es que no puedo vaya verses are poorly built, but mean the following: Que viva el recuerdo de Cuba la reina del mar caribe quiero solo visitar el país y que triste es que no puedo ir In english: Long live the memory of Cuba Queen of the Caribbean Sea I just want to visit the country and how sad is that I can not go ¡Grande y valiente Stephen Stills!
@WolffBachner

The lines might be transcribed as follows: ¡Que linda! Me recuerda a Cuba La reina de la Mar Caribe Quiero sólo visitarle allí Y que triste que no puedo. ¡Vaya! O Va! O Va! (varies in different recordings) A rough translation into English might read: How pretty! I'm reminded of Cuba (alternatively, if the song is about Judy, "(she) reminds me of Cuba") The queen of the Caribbean Sea I only want to visit her there And how sad that I can't. Go! Oh go! Oh go!

I’ve been studying this song and others of csn and just recently discovered that it’s how Steven tunes his guitar 🎸 to get the sound of a dozen guitars playing all at once. I remember hearing this Harmony in the Woodstock movie when it came out O so many years ago. And it still is one of the greatest songs.
