Hi Matt . Just a correction on the long runway at Upington. It was built before the space shuttle, it was made for SAA and their newly acquired Boeing B747 aircraft. In a nutshell the jumbos could not make the trip to Europe from Joburg as it is considered hot and high. The aircraft was loaded in Johannesburg and flown to Upington with minimum fuel load where it was fuelled to max for the trip. The very long runway and lower altitude made this possible. With time the B747s and it’s engines were modified to improve fuel efficiency and performance. Flights to Europe were made possible after that from Jan Smuts. Thanks for the great channel ❤️😊

Watching this series for the 3rd time. As always your presentation is top draw...well done! Your unselfish commitment to sharing these fantastic trips and now more of our neighbors has sparked myself a cpl of friends and family into looking to do a similar tour. We would like to maybe include Mozambique (if time allows) Will let you know how the planning goes (looks like June 2025) Thanks for all the time and effort you put into producing these master pieces They are an invaluable part of research when planning anything similar Keep it up bud. Amazing job

Howzit. I want to start by saying you have an awesome channel and I do enjoy the videos. The content is great, the information is great (some of which I have used to plan a trip or two of my own). I have been fortunate enough to travel to Namibia, the Kalahari, Kgalagadi etc on a few occasions. My only criticism of your Grand Tour is the amount of time/days you have given yourselves to cover the 6500kms around Southern Africa. I fear you have spent far too much time driving each day and in doing so you have missed out on the full experience. Southern Africa is an amazing place with so much to see and experience and do.... In my opinion you should slow down a bit, take your time, experience more. Remember, this is Africa, nothing happens in a hurry. Safe travels! Look forward to the next video.

185$ USD to fill your fuel tank! OMG! I complain if it's more than 90$ USD in my GMC SIERRA V8 4X4 : )! In the USA thats 33 gallons not 21-23 for my truck on average so yeah maybe that's not so terrible after all. thank you for your time, video , and investment.
