Greetings! Thanks for your commentary on how you see Kenya compared to Nigeria. One thing I’d mention and maybe you could touch on is the fact that Kenya has some of the best coastal life (beaches) in Africa - and the general public has unfettered access; meaning, NO ONE has to pay for access. I don’t know if the same can be said of Nigeria.
@adeolaharold

In terms of rent, it is financial system issue. In Kenya mortgage facilities are widely available hence house ownership is far wider and as such competition is wider so landlords cannot dictate rental payment. The higher the amount one pays in advance is advantageous for a landlord whereas a lower amount favours the tenant!!

On rent Kenyans pay monthly but it's not compulsory your can even pay annually if you wish(though no Kenyan would want that😊), on trees and green spaces not just Nairobi but all our cities and towns are very green (you can do your research) we built infrastructure as we plant trees in equal measures. Anyway nice content i enjoyed it

Thank you so much for commenting. I didn’t dispute the fact that Kenyans have other languages and dialect, which I mentioned, but my main point I was trying to drive is that Kenyans have a common language Kiswahili that everyone speaks and understand by both literate and illiterate (please correct me if I am wrong on this), which Nigerians do not have. Thank you again for your comment.
@lisak9361

@adeolaharold Yes! Kiswahili is the national language of Kenya and is the language of the Swahili people of the East African coast, but not everyone speaks it fluently of course since they also speak their own languages. The UN declared it a world language in 2022 as it is spoken by over 100 million people around the world but especially in East Africa. It is the official language of Tanzania and is also spoken in Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Congo. You're correct in your assessment that it makes our region rather unique.
