I do hvac. Because if this I don’t install customer purchased parts. It’s a 50/50 it’s either poor quality or not the right part. Love the channel. Keep up the good work.

I'd be making a change in my contract agreement for future customers to sign. Stopping that from happenning again, and expressly go over the contract before signatures are signed.

Yup that's why I tell people I have a minimum service charge for coming out. My gas time and labor are not free. And if they are a new customer they sign a contract on arrival.

What’s good bro, I feel you 💯% on this one. Atlanta was good to me, but my experience there also made me implement a contract. I don’t care if I’m just doing an oil change, the contract is in the estimate and invoice. But at the end of the day nothing tops your gut, that man looked like a Kevin. Customer gets part to take to parts store for refund with receipt. -------------------- Take deposit of parts/labor cost before work is done. Have customer sign and date receipt

I am learning a lot from semper FI and other advanced diagnostic channels to limit my mistakes or firing the parts cannon. Usually different shops and even dealerships will just launch parts at it hoping they will fix it. You need to study service information and perform diagnostics. It seems that even dealership parts can be wrong. I watched a video of one of my channels trying to get the rear abs wheel sensors to read and the computer was fussing about incorrect part installed code. Every single sensor you could order from ford was the wrong one. That sensor was only included on the entire bearing hub assembly and was listed as an engineering part which is not listed on any parts list that any dealer had on file. They are making them impossible to fix for a reason.

This is why you have the customer sign a contract that way you still get paid even if you have a small claims court you can still file for them to pay for reasonable attorney fees on your behalf if you win

I also have a no refund and if I need to special order parts customer is paying a hefty deposit and that's non refundable I also ONLY TAKE CASH. no cash app no cards no nothing . I been around the block and some . not playing with my money 💯💯

Yea that's a good price. I looked it up and my quote would have been $250. Alldata calls for 2 hours labor I always add another 30 mins to what they say because that's on a lift at dealership. So I would have priced it at 2.5 hours. I charge $100 per hour so my price would have been $250.

It’s not a police issue they have no authority to act on the “customers “ behalf anymore than the police could demand a payment from your client if he didn’t pay you . . It is a civil matter within the law .

Your parts supplier is your problem, not the customer's. The customer didn't contract with the parts supplier, he contracted with you. If the customer wants his money back he should get it and you should claw that back from your crappy supplier. Not the customer's problem your supplier is inept.

Not necessary because it's out of everyone's control once you order the parts same thing if you order the parts from FedEx or Amazon. they delay another day and you gonna be mad at the technician when he or she has no control over the parts? I don't think so

Also, not saying this is the case but when a customer gets their own parts they pay me in full before I'll turn a wrench. It's harder for me to give you your money back than it is for getting you to pay me for something that's the customers fault. Sounds like you were in charge of ordering parts and with a business license the big parts store warranties do include labor and such at times.
