To me it won’t be as slow as that in real life you probably would have special reflexes in your brain as well increasing time of lock on and confirming faster than instant time and killing them before they know anything happened but only with special software and if you overdriver on you it can literally instant and emote donation of the small guiding missiles probably killing or fatal injuries nearby enemies! But if you dont have all those upgrades then there’s no point of using smart weapons

People pointed out that smartguns aren't meant for self-defense, but you know what's worse? Tech weapons. The Senkoh-LX is literally sold in a clothing store, it's meant for corpo civilians to defend themselves and it's a freaking railgun that penetrates not only people, but walls as well. Talk about "knowing your target and what's behind it" when "what's behind it" may be in a completely different street and there's nothing on the way which can stop the projectile. YEAH, TECH-WEAPONS ARE CRAZY. Just comes to show that Night City really forgot what firearm safety means, no wonder so many cutscenes envolve you flagging people or getting flagged like it's nobody's business even by your friends.

In order for this to work you would have to be able to confirm the target with your cyber eyes immediately and have the ammo be able to lock on like a missile.

in cyberpunk what make it realistic is that enemy are recognsed by your system and read your mind as cyberware are implanted in it. as for right now it would be to slow to use you would be dead already unless target is victim insted of offender

Ethic concerns are not going to stop a cyberpsycho. Also, all you'd have to do is link it to the cybereye and have who you're looking t bet the target. Or do what do and shoot straight up. if it misses it'll hit the ground.

you wouldn´t need to know whats behind your target if it is smart ammunition in the way cyberpunk has it. Considering the technological advancements i suggest the ammo would immediately go inert or self combust or something along those lines after hitting its target. I mean, if we can make bullets into homing missiles that are capable of making 90 degree turns at will while chasing the target, why would it be so inconceivable that the bullet is also capable of transferring ALL its energy into the target and stopping, or just "self destruct" after over penetrating.

Very ideal in the last clip, you’ll see that someone else came in the view as he fired. It didn’t bother to log onto that second person that was before the person that he originally logged on to remember their eyes can also be cybernetic, so could also possibly link to the eyes and figure out where you are looking at the lock onto .

With smart guns I feel like making smaller caliber rounds with bullets designed to bludgeon and break bones rather than penetrate and tear through a target. It would make collateral a little easier to deal with since the bullet wouldn’t have the power to pass through multiple objects as great as a regular bullet. With that comes the inevitable arms race that is single personnel smart weapons and how they stack up to regular fire arms tho

We can go fully science fantasy and say that they're link with a neural OS, meaning its easier than thinking about the target because you dont even have to activatly think about the target in order for the OS and the gun to know whats the target as the millisecond recognition of an enemy you wish to shoot at is already been registered in your natural flesh brain.
