This was my first attempt at ever doing carbon fiber skinning. Personally, I think the result turned out great for the first time, but I will let you be the judge of that in the comments below! Below you will find a link to the carbon fiber weave I should have used which has web lock technology, designed to keep the weave in place during the lay-up process!! Additionally, you will also find the step-by-step process written out so you can try this at home!!

Carbon Skinning Process:
between 65-75 *F
Key surface with 40-80 grit to ensure proper adhesion.
Evenly spread the black epoxy resin across the panel. Let set for 2 hrs to achieve a good tack.
Apply carbon cloth across the panel.
Let cure for another 3 hrs after applying carbon fiber cloth.
Apply 1st layer of top coat resin and let cure for over 8hrs.
De nib and sand/key entire surface with 120grit sandpaper.
Apply 2-3 more layers of top coat resin each 2hrs apart or 8hrs apart.
Let cure for over 8 hrs and sand/key entire surface with 120-240 grit sand paper.
Clean surface and apply 1 final thin layer of top coat resin.
Let cure again for over 8 hrs and wet sand surface with 400/800/1200 grit sand paper.
Surface is now ready for ceramic coating protection.
Or
Wet sand surface with 400/600 grit sand paper.
Surface is now ready for clear coat protection.
