If the earth suddenly stops spinning, theres a simple explanation. this was going in the opposite direction. this looks as though it was done by factory. this is impressive. Aaron

This has got to be the smoothest sounding pony motor start I've ever heard. This D7 sound's like a Kitten purring. The owner I'm sure is proud of her. Thanks for sharing this excellent video.

Looks very clean without any blade fittings. Might it have been that trying to fit that much engine in required some concessions. Any chance the D17000 is a sophisticated way to shoehorn little more than 2 of the blocks that the D7 may have originally had?

In flat plate do you mean a 180 degree crankshaft? There is a fire order that coincides with a 180 degree crank. If you tie all the exhaust ports together in the right order you can get a very interesting sound and even add a bit of performance.

outstanding, I love it. any idea of the fire order on the D17000, they don't really sound like a V-8 ,more like a twin 4, either way it sounds great. Thanks for sharing. Tad

Very nice job... I hadn't realized that this individual was out of the UK, until I saw the back and forth (keeping in classy guys) comments, and noticed the UK plates on the trucks... UK or USA, no matter... Damn nice bit of engineering here.

on a normal V type engine cylinders are staggered so that each con rod sits beside each on the crankshaft , a flat plane crank engine has the cylinders opposite each other, with bladeand fork type conrods and tends to make a less distinctive V8 noise, having watched the vid again I think its probably a standard type V8 tho I shall begoing to this years working day soon so will look again

@paradiseroad6405

...flat PLANE crankshaft...I can't say for sure but I would guess so...two four cylinders running on a common crank shaft...the firing order would verify...if it fires alternate banks each time...a true even firing flat plane v8 would have 90 degrees between the cylinder banks though...this one appears to be less...maybe 60 degrees...
