Back in the 1970s we had one we used to strip topsoil, worked real good for that job. Mostly used at new building sites that would be developed. Sold the topsoil to whoever needed it.

The engine is a D17000 the conversion is reported to be fairly simple. It is a 5 3/4" bore V8, fairly common industrial engine.

Hi, @@johndowe7003 HMMMMMMMMMMM?????????????????? So much for your maths. The post to which you are replying was posted EIGHT years ago when the poster claimed to be 26. Now, EIGHT years on, you are calculating his age to be a mere SIX years older???????????????????????? Just my 0.02. You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Want to see that stuff in daily use? go to South America! I worked for Southern Air Transport years ago and we used this very type of equipment to build dirt runways. I went back a few months ago, still in use. The runways and roads get reconstructed on a regular basis and everything is portable.
