I always loved whenever JR would show how much he truly loved SueEllen. This scene in particular was one of the better ones demonstrating that.

They did love each other as much as they hated each other. That's why Sue Ellens marriage to Don Lockwood broke up. He wasn't JR. JR loved that "drunk, tramp and unfit mother" as much as Sue Ellen loved."That bastard".

No matter how many others there were, the bottom line would ALWAYS be "JR AND SUE ELLEN"...a match made in heaven in hell and totally perfect.

JR and Sue Ellen really did love each other. No matter if at their best or at their worst. Bottom line there wouldn't be any one else for either one of them, because they were meant to be. I think the main scene I've seen so far is when Sue Ellen went into premature labor with John Ross, and JR feared she would die. The hurt and emptiness in his eyes said it all, because even he wondered what went wrong ever since. And yet, he still wouldn't have no idea how to go on if he lost her forever.

@@wendyrichmond1755 Yes. But to be honest I was like "Well J.R., putting business before her and screwing other women didn't help." But yes, it's clear that he loves her deeply.

@Ludwig123179 -Hagman actually said some positive things about this story. He and LG talked about it in one of the reunion clip. And I think this moment is very in character for J.R. It fits in the larger arc of their love/loathing dynamic.

This has the classic Dallas look and feel and background music. After this season, all that changed because Dallas used synthesized music and the whole look of the show changed.

Larry Hagman himself said that that wasnt the real JR. He wasnt happy about that soft storyline - thats why they got Patrick back and erased this whole shit :D Vote me down but this is the truth :D And yes - Im a big fan :)
