@Jorge_Jones
3 жыл бұрын
@@geraldmerkowitz4360 Hi Gretchen! Hope you're well. I enjoy it by simply not being afraid anymore. I think you and I may be experiencing different sensations? I've never felt any pain. It hasn't affected my sleep, or made me feel tired. It always occurs just before I fall asleep. It can last a few seconds or even minutes, depending on how long I let it go for. Then I sleep normal, dream normal and wake up feeling fine. I must admit the first time it happened, I was literally terrified. It felt like an evil entity was trying to possess me! I have visual hallucinations. Silhouettes and figures standing before me. Then an enormous weight lies on top. Literally pinning me down to my mattress. I can't even lift a finger. Or speak. It can get to a point where it feels like I'm being pushed thru the bed! I am fully aware mentally, but I have no physical control. Normally, our mind and bodies fall asleep simultaneously. However, sleep paralysis occurs when we begin to fall asleep physically, but mentally, we are still wide awake. The more I read about it, I learned that it is a very natural, common occurrence. It can't harm you, no one has ever died as a result. Scientists can't explain why some people have visual hallucinations, always involving evil, frightening figures. So knowing that it won't/can't hurt me, I'm not worried when it happens, anymore. I take it all in, and thoroughly enjoy it. I hope it happens soon. It's the closest I'll ever get to a real life horror movie! Hope this helps you. Share your story if you feel like it. I'd like to hear it. Take care Gretchen, sleep tight ⚘💕😴
@geraldmerkowitz4360

@@Jorge_Jones Thank you for your answer, man. I had the chance to know about SP before it occured to me, so the first time it happened I knew what was happening. I also don't have any visual hallucination, I hear and feel things only. It happens in the middle of the night, and I always wake up after a crisis. But the rest is identical, the presence, the weight, can't speak, can't move etc. Even though I am not afraid of it and keep control of my emotion, my body feels the panick and the need to fight back. When I wake up all my body hair is standing straight up, my heart is pounding and I'm sweating. I am calm in my head, not in my body. It often happens during a lucid dream, at some point I feel like something going wrong and that I'm about to fall into paralysis. Even knowing all that, the experience is never fun. Besides, what I hear is either creepy (death threats) or weird (once it was a vaccuum cleaner) but there's never fun in it. Maybe if I go with a different mind set like you do, it might get better. Though crisis are becoming rare since I left college. When you replace smoking, alcohol and McDonalds with sports and healthy food, *strangely enough* the crisis reduced dramatically! Sleep tight Jorg! (if that's your real name, cause mine isn't =\)

@@geraldmerkowitz4360 You're welcome not Gretchen. I'm sorry that you hear death threats, that would be frightening. I would be more scared of a vacuum cleaner in the middle of the night! Thinking which psycho is cleaning now?? Haha I still do panick sometimes, and feel the need to fight back physically. That's what I like about it. Sounds weird right? I know it can never harm me, therefore, I'm not too worried about it. I've asked all my family and friends, and no one I know experiences SP. So in a way, I feel special. Glad to hear you've chosen a healthier lifestyle. I've done the same, and you're right, you do sleep alot better. My SP isn't as frequent as it was. Next time you feel it coming on, try and stay as relaxed as possible. That's what I do anyway. Take care not Gretchen, George from Melbourne, Australia. 👋😀🇦🇺

It always seems like a chore. You don't like it, but you know it must be done. It's simply unavoidable. There is a small towell on the bathroom floor. The vanity lights are on, nice and bright, clear vision is needed for the ritual to go smoothly. You've done this before, many times as a matter of fact. There have been a few bad outcomes previously. Even requiring first-aid in some cases. We all learn from our mistakes. You're getting better at this. There is music coming from the other room. Not too distracting. Concentration is essential. A scented candle burns in the corner. Sandalwood. "Let's get this over with" you mutter to nobody. You pick up the small pair of scissors you keep in the third draw. You take a deep breath, and snip! You start cutting. The first cut sounds beautiful, bouncing off the white tiled walls. The second snip, even more beautiful than the first. You can't stop. You won't stop. Until all the cuts are complete. Sweat starts to bead on your forehead. Reminding you that you need to call the repair man to fix the air-con. You keep cutting, you're halfway through now. There's a bit of a mess on the towell as expected. That's ok. You can get rid of it when you finish. No one will ever see it. Almost done. Looking good. You start to smile. You know how to handle those scissors. You're a big boy now! "OUCH" " Fuck! See what happens when you get cocky! " Blood drips on the towell. Not much, just a few drops. You keep cutting, just two more cuts and it's over. All done. Small dressing for the wound. Mess cleaned up and the towell is in the laundry basket. You fall asleep with satisfaction as a blanket. The next morning over breakfast, you think to yourself, glad that's done, hope I don't have to do that again. But in just a couple of short weeks, you're toe nails have grown back!

Can see this being the soundtrack for a paranormal investigation type show or movie, the protagonist being the only one able to see dark inky spirits lingering among the shadows, always there but the people going about their lives never even knowing them to even exist. The whole time of you watching, you wonder if they really are there, dark spirits causing trouble or requiring help, or just figments of the character’s own imagination, his demons made real through paranoia and gilt of failing when people needed him most. I like things that are more psychological when it comes to dark ambient and paranormal, and this style fits perfectly.
