I should have put a caption at the beginning of the video regarding this. As Ed Gein has already been talked about across countless videos on KZitem, I didn't include him. My dad worked with Dahmer at ambrosia in Milwaukee. Dahmer worked on the production line and dad was an electrician so they didn't interact much; however, everyone took lunch at the same time. Dad said Dahmer always ate alone and shortly up to his arrest would eat in the bathroom stalls. One of dad's collegues bullied Dahmer during lunch hour for being a social outcast (highschool never really ends) and Dahmer very calmly told him that he would cut him if he didnt stop. Dad told me the way Dahmer said it was so deadpan and matter-of-fact that it creeped everyone out and they all stopped trying to talk to him after that. Good times.

Curious, I just wanted to drop you a serious compliment. There is a nearly-infinite number of channels attempting to glean content from events of the past. Some rehash cases we've all memorized (some of those include a makeup tutorial, hurrah!), some have a robot read others' work like some kind of KZitem copy band, some try to do what you do. If someone is attempting to create any kind of content, and true crime is certainly included, the number one focus should be to make it interesting, engaging. I subscribe to LOTS of channels that focus on true crime, and I'm often putting up with terrible quality just to get the information. (I don't watch the makeup gals, I just can't!) The crisp writing and impeccable delivery sets Curious World apart. I could name three channels that could have tried to cover these exact cases, but instead of engaging me like you did, they would have lost me & I'd have moved on. So there was top tier entertainment in this crime/weirdness buff's day today. I'm a disabled guy, 90% shut-in. Being fully engaged in something for a solid 40 minutes is a gift. This stuff keeps me going, man. I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate you.

Al Capone and John Dillinger probably had some dark tales from Wisconsin. In those days the state had a lot of wilderness and not many roads to some of the the far more reaching and remote places. This made it a favorite place (like Arkansas also) for many gangsters. Al Capone would stash a lot of prohibition liquor in various places in the state. If he didn't want to be found this is where he went. Other Chicago area gangsters made themselves neighbors of Big Al buying places near his. Al's hideout was surrounded by a foot and half thick walls as a defense against other gangs and the feds. It had a guard house and even a small jell cell. John Dillinger & Co had a big shootout with the FBI at a place called Little Bohemia. The too antsy FBI started shooting without any real advance preparation, or who they were actually shooting at. They were there based on a tip. There were about 75 lodge members leaving the facility when the FBI got there. The last of the members were three men leaving in a car. The FBI later said they asked the car to stop over a loudspeaker, and when it failed to do so they shot at the car. All three men in the car were shot and one died. They were all civilians. All the shooting alerted the Dillinger gang! They quickly started to take off, and made good their escape. Not crazy Baby Face Nelson though. He charged the FBI! Eventually he had to retreat back into the woods after having to face so many fed guns including Melvin Purvis' and their gunfire. From the road he stumbled into a backwoods home and kidnapped the couple living there. He then car-jacked their car and forced the couple to drive at gunpoint. They stopped at another home and kidnapped the occupants there too. The FBI was on his tail though. But before the FBI got there though, four men arrived at the house. Baby Face kidnaps them too! Finally the FBI gets there as Baby Face is leaving. They trap him there. So it seems. He asks them to identify themselves. They do. Boom! Baby Face roars back with his own answer. There's a shootout. Baby Face shoots all the agents, one was fatally shot in the head, and another one was shot multiple times. He steals their car. His new escape vehicle gets stuck in the mud. He can't get it out. Frustrated he takes to the road on foot and back deep into woods. He finds a house with a Native American couple living there. He chills for a few days. He gets back to his gang. A piece of cake. The entire Dillinger gang got away! The mighty FBI with J Edgar Hoover at its head looked pretty bad and incompetent across the nation. All it had to show for the big shootout was a dead cop, a dead civilian and injured civilians. There were calls for Hoover to resign. Hoover almost lost his job as a result of what happened in the dark backwoods of Wisconsin. Truly a dark tale from that state. Just about 1,100 miles away and only a month later after the Little Bohemia shootout I guess you can say state and local law enforcement (TX and LA) showed the feds how to conduct a shootout. Bonnie & Clyde got gunned down in Louisiana. No bad guy got away! No innocent civilian was injured, and no cop was shot. It was a shameful civilian souvenir party day however! Some cut off pieces of Bonnie's blood stained dress and hair per the cops there. Since this is about dark tales from Wisconsin, what does the above last piece have to do with Bonnie & Clyde? I don't really know! But Wisconsin has a Bonnie & Clyde Gangster Park just a half an hour away south from Little Bohemia on the same highway, US Highway 51. I know the couple went as far north as Minnesota, maybe Wisconsin too? I don't know. States like WI AR, and NV take a little pride in their gangster past. They have gangsta museums to prove it too. Maybe there are still some dark tales from Wisconsin not yet told (scary music in the background)!

I worked in corrections in Wisconsin. I know people who were working in Columbia when Dahmer was killed. It's still shrouded in mystery. A lot of inconsistencies with the story. Administrative employees were allowed to walk around the crime scene and then it was preserved. Contamination of the crime scene! Scarver was let back into his cell after the murders. I wish Dahmer was still alive so we could study him. Thanks for the video!

You guys want another dark tale from Wisconsin, look up the book "Deadly Obsessions" by Clifford Linedecker. I was born, raised, and am still living in Phillips, Wisconsin, where this took place. Around these parts, we consider John Weber a budding serial killer. He was convicted of murdering his wife's sister, the attempted murder of his wife, and was the main suspect in another case where a boy was found tied up on the train tracks. Some people still say that he was responsible for the disappearance of Marchele Hansen a year or so after he murdered his wife, but the timeline doesn't add up correctly in my mind on that one.

I *LOOOVED Stevens Point!!! 👌🏼👍👏🏼💯😊 I have lived in Madison since I was 5 years old but I moved up to Stevens Point for several years in the early 90's while my fiance was attending college @ U.W.S.P. , and I have to say that I literally just absolutely loved every second of it!!! We lived in an adorable little house on Union St., & while my fiance was in school full-time, I was working @ the Y.M.C.A. on Division St. It was a super fun job, & I received a free membership that I most certainly took full advantage of. 👌🏼😉👏🏼. My fiance worked part-time at Little Caesars, & I have many fond memories of riding around with him in his yellow Subaru, delivering pizza on the weekends. 👌🏼🍕👍 I also remember when we first "discovered" Shmekle ( & I'm sure that I'm misspelling the name! 🤷) Park...1 of the most beautiful, most serene & peaceful nature preserves that I have ever been to, up until this very day. 🙏💯🧘🤸🏼♀️ 🌄🎣🌅🦆🐿️🦃🦇🦉🦅🐢🐇🐸🦊 I can't even begin to count all of the many leisurely, romantic strolls that we took together thru-out that magical, mystical place of natural wonder 😍👫😍!! We would pack ourselves up a nice lil' picnic basket filled with brie cheese, crackers...& a bottle of Prairie Fume' (our absolute *FAVE!!) from The Wollersheim Winery 👌🏼👍👏🏼 🍇🍷🍾🍷... and we would have ourselves a nice lil' spread 🌅👌🏼🌄. We would lay a blanket down by the creek, where we would just kick off our shoes & chill like vills ✌️, while eating our cheese & crackers & sipping on our wine. 😋 It was such a perfectly ideal spot for relaxing & unwinding, for curling up & just cherishing our precious "alone" time & enjoying eachother's company, while having real heart-to-heart conversations. Sometimes we'd take a nice, long leisurely nap together, on our blanket underneath the trees; sometimes we'd play cards, or board games. Other times, we'd feed the ducks, or I would read a good book that I had brought along while he would study. All I know is that we definitely shared some really extra-special moments Together @ that most lovely park, always making the very most of our quality time together...& in turn leaving us both with so many treasured, amazing & unforgettable memories of our time together there...& not just at/of Shmekle, but of Stevens Point as a whole. 👏🏼💯💝🙏My fiance ended up graduating with a B.S. in education (with an emphasis in environmental sciences) in 1994, & ultimately we both ended up moving back to Madison. But our time spent together in Stevens Point will always hold a very dear & very special place in my heart 💛.

I have a dark Wisconsin tale: a few years ago, I was in that place from mid-January through the beginning of March. The whole place was a frozen wasteland where the sun seemed like it didn't have the energy to climb into the sky, and the best it could muster was a half-assed arc above the horizon for a few hours each day--not that I could really tell since the low blanket of grey clouds was nearly perpetual. The people, if you could call them that, were wan and pale with hollow eyes, and they shuffled about aimlessly in down blankets onto which they'd apparently stitched sleeves as a defense against the climate. They survived the long, dark months by some sort of unique metabolic adaptation, which requied they consume quantities of pork fat and malted liquor that would sicken a human. To this day my sleep is interrupted with nightmares of that frigid wasteland, and on especially bad nights, I awake shivering, screaming "RACINE!"

The dad was a truck driver, and he admitted to the pastor at their church that he murdered 3 women in different places while he was on the road. A creepy detail is that he would occasionally make his daughter’s dolls look like his victims after he killed them. I believe he lived in Vernon County before he went to prison, but I can’t find anything about it online. I have only read the part of a newspaper, that my grandma saved, that had the article in it.
