I honestly had no idea they were considering MLM. But their products are AWESOME!! I buy the regular nail strips fairly regularly and love the seasonal designs. And as someone who works a lot with their hands, they hold up 1000 times better than regular nail polish. I do a clear coat over top after applying and they hold strong until I break a nail or remove them myself. I find them significantly easier to apply than the Color Street nails too because they are thicker. I recommend them all the time!

@@ArmednotTriggeredmake sure you SLIGHTLY buff the surface of your nails before you apply and then clean them well with alcohol to remove any oils that could cause them to peel up. I also use a base coat before applying bc it makes them hold better. There is also a product by Orly called Bonder and it literally makes your nails grip polish and u can use it with these strips or regular polish either one. I have used it before, I just prefer a base coat bc it strengthens my nails more, but if you have strong nails I would recommend using either. As someone who works in marketing businesses, it's really amazing how companies still think MLM is good for their business overall. The model screams money for the business, but it is not good for their people or their customers. The fact that they stopped due to the backlash says A LOT about the amount of feedback they got in that corporate office and the risks they were not willing to take. I haven't heard anything about this until today, great video!

They’d have to know that they be making money hand over fist and not having to pay out a huge percentage of it to their reps, so it makes me wonder whether they truely do care about their customers. They are entitled to make money of course but don’t say you care about your customers while simultaneously ripping them off
@jaymel4691

@@Alyse_bell Yeah, I felt the same. When Scott sold them the idea, he had to have pushed it as a way for the company to make insane amounts of money while having an army of free salespeople doing all the work for them. They are saying all the right things, and they've dissolved their partnership with Scott, but they still initially agreed to it in order to make money. They knew it was a scam, and that it would benefit them. There was never any respect for their customers or the quality of their products, and it seems dishonest of them now to pretend they ever had any. I think they just weren't expecting the level of backlash they got, or the power of social media, and that's why they changed course. They still did the right thing, but I hate all their language about how DD claims to care so much about their customer base and products- if they really meant that, they wouldn't have considered an MLM in the first place.

There's something iffy about the fact that they won't comment on Scott not being a part of the company anymore but are sending a bunch of private DM's. Idk it just feels off.

I was introduced to Body shop as an mlm in Australia - then found their stores. I live in the country so unless I’m in a much bigger centre, I don’t see a lot of stores of any sorts.

So they decided to pull the “I’m not like other girls” MLM trick and then be condescending when people called them out. Between the preexisting colorstreet huns (loyal as all get out) and all of the people who are against MLMs, I don’t think it will be successful. At least not in the US where the MLM branch of The BodyShop closed. I think he isn’t confident in his choice to add in an MLM sales model and I truly think that’s why he’s so defensive.😅 I hope no one falls for it. I hope he finds true peace. Going back and forth on social media as a brand owner/CEO/CFO/whoever is not it. Wait until he finds out about all of the cheaper, better quality brands, selling the exact same things without MLM components. I think we’ll see sales go up for KISS, Karma Nail Wraps, Lily and Fox, etc. while Dashing Diva dies.

I’m not surprised they believed it would be a good idea to add an MLM side. If you don’t know how predatory MLMs are, it doesn’t seem that bad. Maybe some of the messages from “friends” are annoying but I bought MLM products from friends before I realized how the business model worked. Even with their second message trying to defend the MLM business model, I feel like the main company truly believed what they said and while we know how MLMs work, I don’t think they really did. They were probably pitched direct sales with an optional side of recruiting, not realizing recruiting is the only way to make money. Scott is clearly unhinged but luckily Dashing Diva seen the light bc I do think it’s clear they care shout their customers.

It sounds like he sent that email without clearing it with anyone. He really shot himself in the foot. So delusional that he ended it with the bit about how new opportunities were on the table when literally the next day the entire thing was officially canned. What a buffoon.

I'm not sure I would ever trust a company that considers going down the MLM route, even if they didn't go through with it. I'm glad they didn't, but at the end of the day they kind of showed their true colours. 🤷♀️

I've never heard of this company, but LET'S GO, ANTI-MLM PEEPS! You guys are frickin' amazing for making this company rethink adding that business model, absolute legends, all of you! And in turn, I now know of a good company I can use for trying out nails before paying at a shop for something I might not like (the adjustment of longer nails in my daily life, I mean). Also, it is absolutely telling that Scott was the epitome of the gross huns who belittle and gaslight others. They learn that shit from the top and now I see by "from the top", it's the tippy-top. It trickles down and infests everyone below with the same arrogance and rudeness. Also love how in his storytime about the meeting, he left out that she asked in writing for proof of how he was wrong and he didn't respond to that for her to update the post. While there is a strong part of me that wishes she'd have done the interview, I must with a heavy sigh ultimately agree that it wouldn't have resolved anything. Creating MLM's or their compensation plans, is his lifeblood, no way is anyone going to sway him away from that. And those of us who are aware of how predatory MLM's are can never, ever support them, and there's no changing our minds on that. In the end, it would've just been like a political mudslinging match where the one who shouts the loudest wins and nothing would have changed. So, I applaud the woman for seeing that ahead of time and just cancelling the interview.

Wow! So glad that there are enough anti-MLM ppl now to band together and condemn a company for choosing the MLM business model to the point where the business abandoned the idea. This also shows that the company actually has a product that people want to buy. They don't need to rely on recruiting to make profit. The products speak for themselves.

Scott was the one who hosted the call. It was so cringy. People were in the comments on the livestream, saying, "Sounds like MLM." Etc. He was trying to spin it as the direct sales thing, denting it as an mlm basically. You could see him get more frustrated as the call went on. I have used Dashing Diva products for about two years, I'm wearing them now in fact, and u was so upset about this. I was so happy when they changed their mind.

Thank you Hannah for all the time and effort you put into keeping us informed. I used to support a friend that sold color street, but now that I no longer support mlm's I faithfully support Lilly and Fox. I've never tried Dashing Diva but after this fiasco sadly, I don't think I would regardless of the backtracking. Recently a friend invited me to a Red Aspen nail dash party. Knowing it was an mlm I joined just out of curiosity with no intention to purchase, but my goodness they push hard and the ladies are buying into it!! My friend has even signed up as a consultant when will it stop!? 😞

I love nail wraps and purchase from a ton of non MLM companies like Lovely Hello and Lily & Fox. Dashing Diva has always been a little expensive for me, though I often grab them on clearance/sale, but I just don't think I'll ever purchase from them again. Just the fact that they thought going MLM was a good idea, then hired Scott Halvorsen with all his usual MLM brainwashing makes me sick.
