I was lucky enough to attend a live DC5 concert when they played the old Treasure Island Gardens in London, Ontario on Nov. 3, 1964. I was only 15 years old and it was my first concert. It being a school night (Tuesday) meant none of my friends were allowed go so I attended the concert all by myself. I was one of hundreds of screaming girls and we all stood up on our chairs. The Dave Clark Five put on a fast paced, fantastic show and it really was one of the highlights of my teenage years. I loved them then and I love them now.

Every age group has something to remember about the years that they enjoyed. With many "baby boomers" it was the 50's and 60's for many reasons. WWll and Korea ended, now we could enjoy a new kind of music, Blues which had been around thanks to the wonderful Black Musicians and Singers became a different "genre" both slow and fast and different beats with multiple harmonies, "Rock n Roll," if you will. Men, women, duos, groups, both men and women, etc, all started to vocalize(harmonize), with every type of sound you could imagine. Very simply, there was something for everyone and everyone's taste. We can go on and on, but to this day, the 50's and 60's music is still being played and enjoyed by every age group, throughout the world. While it brings back memories to many, it now creates new memories for those younger to listen to and enjoy along with today's new music, which is even more diverse and many times uses music to become a social forum for any problems in our society! Enjoy all music, give it a chance, and then decide what you like, because you have to listen to all of it and decide rather than just stay narrow minded and "hate" what you never heard. Wishing all of you nothing but good health to you and your families, everything else is secondary.
