I will say this much: Dustin Hoffman does not age. Supposedly he's older than Robert Deniro but you cannot tell that from this interview. And, Dustin looks tan fit and healthy. Amazing. His vocal pipes have gotten a bit deeper over the years but he looks maybe in his late 40s early 50s here, and he turns 83 this year, 2020. And maybe looks 60. If that. How anyone could have said Dustin was not good looking enough to be a movie star just boggles my mind. But I read up a bit on him, and it seems some of that formed the core of who he is as an actor, because he never felt he deserved success. From Wikipedia's entry on Dustin: "In 1999, Hoffman received the AFI Life Achievement Award and recalls the emotional impact that receiving the award had on him: There was this reel of pictures, me playing all these different roles. I had my first-and only, thank God-panic attack. What followed was depression. . . . It had to do with a central core in me, which was that I never felt I deserved success." Dustin Hoffman is truly a movie legend. He and Bobby Deniro are two legendary acting GOATs. May they both live, and continue to act, forever.

I think De Niro is an INFP personality type (if anyone knows about Myers-Briggs personality typing). He is introverted, relies on intuition, feeling and perceiving, those traits would drive his personality. I think people need to understand everyone brings a different mindset to life, and we need to judge less.
@sanctuaryism

well said. it is at least his outer persona (public image he holds)... the thing with people is they think "oh he is like this in public or in an interview on tv and that's how he must always be like, even at home?"... its not the case or at least always the case. he might be an entirely different more open guy... maybe even somewhat like we see him like in some of his movies.

People are so misinformed with introversion/ extroversion. We often think in Western culture, that introverts are aloof, cold, distant, but this is not the case. DeNiro is obviously just an introverted personality and always has been. This same disposition is also what makes him such a perceptive observer and powerful actor: he is sensitive to his environment. It's odd because the "show-biz" aspect to acting is opposite to the intimacy a good dramatic actor provides.
