This topic always confused even some senior engineers. I read the code again and again and gave up and here is the best explanation. Great Job

I did noticed the seat design for SPE and DPE is different, which i can see that is where the Oring and spring are placed. That will allow pressure to goes into cavity and seals the downstream seat.

Guys i've a generic question about valves production: when a valve requires o-rings, lip seals or other seals in specific areas of the valve (like on the seat rings or between two parts in order to prevent leakage) are they usually engineered by the same manufacturer that engineers the valve parts or by others? Then, if the seals are engineered by others(that i think happens in the majority of the cases) do the real manufacturers of the valve re-make the FEA about the body parts plus the seals to check the entire integrity of the valves in static/dynamic/fatigue analysis? What is the real work flow?

Very clear and simple explanation .very useful .Can you also take one topic about why some manufacturer drilling relief hole on ball on cryo application .
@ValveChannel
7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your support.Most cryogenic ball valve size are smaller than 10" so most of them will use floating ball structure to design the valve.Floating ball valve the valve seat can't move by the cavity pressure. So the best way to relief the cavity pressure is drilling a hole on the ball.

This is wrong you inverse between bi-directional and uni-directional, bi directional suppose to used spe seat design, so on this case if PB > PA it shall relieve the cavity pressure, note "bi" on bidirectional means if cavity pressure bigger than upstream pressure it can move both ways, in the same direction with upstream or opposite (depend on which side you put the spe seat)
@ramamanikanta2223

If DIB 2 has no disadvantages then oil and gas industry specifications use only DIB 2 design , but still specs are asking DBB design ..why ??

I know there is the thermal impact from hot medium application. In fact no seat is super tight it means after a time medium gets into the cavity room. I assume the valve the cavity room is atm pressure and when I have a high design pressure, the thermal impact (sun solar) is not an issue, when we are NOT in a hot medium application. (for eg.: natural gas temp range +5 - 40°C ) My question is, when the risk of cavity pressure is quite low, is the DIB-1 the best prefferd solution???
