I've enjoyed this show, but it didn't seem remarkable until this scene. It took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes. What a thoughtful, compassionate, and visceral look at the wounds the church inflicts on the outcasts in the name of God and the compassion that exists if we look past the dogma.

This show had such deep, contrived, philosophical questions AND is a brilliant comedy. What more can you ask for from a show? UGH, Shotime and MGM made a big mistake when they cancelled this.

Something about this scene just tugs at my heart...I've never seen God make a personal appearance on any of the other episodes, just this one. It's a good message to people who are different. God has not "forgotten" you. :) This was a GREAT show..

I love how Daisy is so accepting, considering she's from the 1940's iirc. I also don't know what it is about this clip, but it makes me cry, and I'm not a religious person or an emotional one.

i think this is the only show which says really true things about life, death, faith and love with all the honest. i love different shows, but this one really stole my heart - with all the sadness and laughter it brings. this is exactly when i want to thank everybody who made this show real, as it's a real masterpiece: deep, bright, natural and so true

One of the most difficult scenes for me to watch out of *any* tv show I have ever watched. Stan: "Why would god do this to me?" Daisy: "Do what? Have you die this way?" Stan: "No, Have me live this way, god doesn't love all creatures Daisy." Daisy: "I think you should pray Stan." Best scene ever. I relate to it all too well.

One of the great things about Dead Like Me was the universal theme of death that affects all human beings, regardless of whether your black, white, man, woman, transgendered, etc. Death is the great equilizer and the show captured it subtly, yet beautifully. I love this scene, it's really touching. Thanks for uploading this.

@PincheVatoMalo The way I saw it, the breaking of the glass represented God apologizing to the man for taking his life before his life could really "begin" as a woman. The rock striking at the church of God was God telling him he was sorry, and hope that he could forgive Him.

yes, I feel the same--I literally counted the days just to see the show again --it got to me so deep. It was quirky and could be hilarious at times w/ George and Rube and Mason--but I must say, some scenes like this w/ Daisy were so sad it got me pretty emotional. They HAVE to bring this show back for the sake of all the ppl that never saw this masterpiece of a series.

This scene was an inventive twist: instead of cursing god for ending life, Stan cursed him for giving it. "What was my part in your plan? Did the truly important people need more entertainment? Did the unremarkable people need someone to look down on?" A simple change in the central question reveals a deeper conflict than usual.

I, even not being a christian, and not being in same situation than this person, can totally relate here. Can totally understand why shouting to "god" (sorry, christians folks, no caps from me, not my god) would be necesary. Could understand why god would need to say "I'm sorry".

What makes this scene is that there's no hate, just hurt and pain. I think he still very much loves and believes in God. And that makes this so different. We've seen angry at God so many times. This is the only guy who's forgiven God.

@PincheVatoMalo My opinion is that it was a manifestation of the dead guy's rage. He wasn't able to physically hurt the church but the hooligan children did it for him ( not sure if he somehow psychically influenced them or not ) and after he had spent his rage the Holy Mother came down to take him away from the pain of his life.
@RoyalGuard503

@Darkprime29 I think the opposite was the meaning. To be honest, the scene would have made NO sense if God used the rock as a sign of being angry. To me, it was a sign of God apologizing to Stan, hoping that he would forgive him, and join him in whatever afterlife is waiting for him.

The show is actually far from christian. Death is depicted as being tailor made for any particular individual. In this case the man was a catholic in other cases some were received by some hindu god. And in one episode a women who for all intents and purposes was an atheist simply sailed off on a some ethereal sail boat.
