I remember a story from Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman about their appearance on the Hollywood Palace in 1964. Dean was host and kinda made fun of them. Bill said Keith Richards wanted to hit him with his guitar. I think that's bull. Not to be believed. Just bluster. Had Richards done that Dean was a powerful man at the time and would have ended the Rolling Stones career before it ever got started. Keith Richards always acted tough but really wasn't nor very smart.

It was nice when entertainment didn't have overtly sexual indecency, foul mouthed stand-up, and violence to keep people's attention jumping every 3 to 5 seconds. These shows were fun and you could always end your day and go to sleep in a happy tune and a smile. Thank you Dino and George!

We ( the audience) just tagged along. You've all ( or some of you at least) have seen my posts, Dean Martin was a comedic genius, he knew just how far ( or not far) to go. George Gobel was my Dad's favorite comedian, and "Tie Me Kangaroo Down" was a song that he sang to me and played frequently on our organ. He had perfect pitch, and could play anything that he had heard once. That gift skipped me, but was passed along to our son (much to the chagrin of our daughter and I 😉).

It's a Gibson. George originally played a Gibson Super 400, but as you said, it was almost as big as he was, so Gibson designed and built a smaller version for him - the L5-CT. I don't know for sure, but I suspect the one in this video is the Super 400.
