Hey guys, just wanted to stop by and say thanks for all the views on this. I’m not really as huge on this band anymore as I was when I uploaded this video, but you can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be seeing them this summer. Also, if you like instrumental hip-hop like kxnwledge and flying lotus, please check out some of my beat tapes. I’ll be uploading a lot more to this channel soon, so be on the lookout for that. Much love. slims222.bandcamp.com Instagram.com/sl1ms

I have waiting soo long and scoured the deepest of KZitem to find a live DG set with pro recording. This is incredible. The fact that leave the bat shit crazy drumming out of recording then hit you with live is one the boldest and artistically beautiful decisions a band could make. Imagine Van Halen didn't record a single guitar solo on the album but when you when see them old Eddie is just rippin you a new asshole. To me DG are acknowledging the fact that the experience of a recording of band and the live performance of are fundamentally different. Usually bands add extra stuff in studio to hints at this distinction. DG leaves the best shit for the stage. So classy. This guys drumming is other worldly the fact that he can stay that tight with the samples while expressing himself so widely is truly incredible.
@Slims222

the other amazing part is that there are certain songs he plays on an electric drum kit, and completely re-samples them, to the point where it doesn’t even feel like it’s played on a kit (stuff on NLDW, NOTM, Interview, etc). and then he actually plays the parts live and you’re like “oh shit so that WASN’T” programmed?
