What a cool show - I've seen the Patti Smith appearance, too. What strikes me is that for a kids show, there is no pandering or talking down to the audience. I might go as far as to say that the conversation is more mature than, say, most Leno guest appearances. Debbie, of course, is so smart and forthcoming - and gorgeous to boot - the ultimate Rock Chick. I just adored this band back in the day. Thanks for posting!

@@edmundpower1250 She actually never posed nude for Playboy. The magazine approached her but she turned them down. Playboy got a hold of some black and white artistic nudes she did for a photographer in the 1960s when she was in her early 20s but those photos had nothing to do with Playboy. Playboy magazine later bought the rights to those photos, I assume from the photographer himself or whichever agency that came to own the rights to those photos, just to capitalize on Debbie's popularity. But again Debbie never posed nude for Playboy and she was pretty much only a cocktail waitress at the Playboy night club in NY, that's what a bunny was, just a cocktail waitress and Gloria Steneim was also a Playboy bunny in her youth too. However a Playboy "Playmate" is different, that's when you're actually posing nude for the magazine. Many people hear the term "Playboy Bunny" and mistakenly mix that up with Playmate.

@@brotherkellymatthewbarnes8882 Debbie is a new wave/punk icon who came from the underground. That in itself is more badassery than Farrah Fawcett. Farrah is a mainstream icon known for her blondness and hairdo. She was not a exemplary actress or a revolutionary feminist. She was simply an "It" girl for a short period of time and had an all American girl charm and looks. In my opinion these qualities made her popular but don't make her a badass. Debbie was a girl fighting to be noticed in a sea of tough punk guys and she pretty much became the face of new wave. She's a fashion icon for punk and new wavers. These qualities are all in the "badass" category. We had a lot of cute mainstream blondes from TV and movies in the similar mold of Fawcett like Suzanne Somers, Bo Derek, etc. There are no other females comparable to what Debbie stood for in the early days of punk and the peak of new wave.
