So that's what the Beltline looks like without road construction. I had forgotten

Holy Crap! My old stompin' grounds! I was 15 when this was made. We used to burn these streets up! We'd stop by that Racetrack by Lee's Chicken on Highway 31 coming from Hartselle, right when you get into town and fill up with gas for .99 cents a gallon. Then we'd go cruise and get into mischief all night. Those were some really great, care free days for me :)

This was taken on my 18th birthday. I’m from Trinity and I very well remember when Decatur looked like this. I don’t live there anymore but I do pass through occasionally to visit family. Wow does it look different now!

Wow no words! I was borin in 1999 and moved to Alabama in late 02 early 03 one of my early memories from there was going to florence, muscle shoals, hunsville, and Decatur on the weekends and I remember always seeing the Kmart on south Decatur surrounded by a bunch of new stores and a children’s park I didn’t know that Kmart had existed since the early 90’s and I recognized that sign that said Tuscumbia I use to bust there too by muscle shoals. I moved from Alabama to California in 2010 I haven’t visited since

Correct. It was called Formosa. I remember it well as I used to go there with family as a kid. It was not the typical Chinese restaurant you find in Decatur today.

@@randymatthews5467 I remember Walmart first coming to Decatur in the early to mid 80s. It was first in the same shopping center as the old Food World. The spot where the first Walmart was became Books-A-Million and I think is now Office Depot. In my memory Walmart then moved to where the Publix is now and then finally to where they are on Spring Avenue now. I don’t even remember them being where it’s shown in this video but I was young and had other things on my mind! a I don’t think they were in the public location very long either.
