Overcoming The Past:
Each of us has past regrets and painful memories. Those regrets can
become overpowering and trap us in an endless cycle of misery. But the
Scriptures reveal that God will forgive and give us a fresh start. Knowing
this can help release us from painful memories. (2 Corinthians 5: 17; 1
John 1: 9; Philippians 3: 13-15; Proverbs 18: 14)
Having The Correct View of Tomorrow:
Sometimes, we rely too heavily on things we plan to do tomorrow. We forget
that someday we will run out of tomorrows. Another thing to remember is that
our faith should give us hope or a confident expectation of better times.
History teaches us that things can become very unpleasant on this earth.
But our hope of Jesus’ return can help us be optimistic and hopeful.
(Proverbs 23: 18; 1 John 3: 2-3; John 4: 14; Acts 24: 25)
Living In The Present (Today):
• Enjoy your family (Psalm 127: 3-5)
• Enjoy your work (Ecclesiastes 2: 24)
• Enjoy God’s work (Ecclesiastes 3: 14)
• Enjoy your congregation (Acts 2: 46)
• Enjoy Serving The Lord (Psalm 100: 2)
Time Is Fleeting:
James 4: 14 - “Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow.
You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes
away.”
The Bible teaches that life is a gift from God and a limited and fragile
one. It warns us not to take life for granted but to use it wisely and
faithfully. It also encourages us to trust God’s sovereignty and grace,
even when facing difficulties and uncertainties.
