S/b a step down at the door so a driving rain doesn't get pushed into the house. Fatal error. Maybe a roof is going up, I don't know.

Wondering why you planed down the edges? I am assuming it is to create a recessed edge? Also, do you use a cant strip along the house or do you just put the vinyl behind the siding?
@mikecraftsmancustombuilder3650
Жыл бұрын
I can't speak for all manufacturers but I believe cant strips aren't recommended these days -- shrinkage is a concern. You get the vinyl "finger tight" in the corner between the horizontal and vertical planes. And yeah the planing is just so you don't see the bump created by the thickness of the flashing.

Would i be able to use BONDO for filling the gaps before gluing vinyl on my balcony or anything else since i live in Canada and cannot find this Ardex Feather here Also would i be able to install new vinyl on a plywood that previously had vinyl glued to and i removed the vinyl and sanding the plywood would that be ok thx

Yes you can, might tear up some of the plywood slightly, but you can fill those areas no problem. In Canada we use thin set.

@@mikeledee8786 I'm sorry my mistake, I use a Ardex feather finish it is a leveling compound . You can use several other products as well but you would need to make sure that it is something that can be used in an exterior application. Ardex mrf is a good option.

@@mrfantum1 totally agreed! Quick question, do you have any input on using marine grade ply and/or applying a sealant, or do you have any experience with breathing/expansion, etc. issues (it's on an exterior deck subfloor using a poly finish)?

iv been sitting on a whole pile of footage half edited. today was just the day to finish a few. I enough for a bunch more but they won't happen right away. . For Sure send them over. That would be great. I have been doing more time-lapse type stuff than the tutorial and tip style.
This guy definitely does not know how to do it sufficiently. Take it from a 20+ year certified installer.
