Wow, I picked mostly similar hardware, though I used an ATX motherboard, Corsair 2x8 GB, western digital 500 GB SSD(this was a stick SSD i could plug into the Mother board), and a GTX 1080, I did use the same CPU cooler, and PSU. I did not add the extra fans though, my comp is occasionally warm, but has yet to be throttled.

at around 2:19 when I show the bottom of the case it shows a spot on the right of the video that you must pull to get the front off, which will release the bottom two of (I believe) six plastic pins in the case, then work your way up pulling the front off directly outwards. I know I hate it too lol. The front of this case and a lot of others are held on by these plastic pin things. It will take some force to get it off - you shouldn't break anything doing it.

* Download the ISO image of whatever version of windows you own or have, usually this can be done from microsoft directly like windows 10 here www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10 * Download software to make that image into a bootable USB drive, I used Rufus found here: rufus.akeo.ie/ * Plug in your USB device, keep in mind you probably want at least an 8gb drive, and windows 7 is super picky for me using USB3.0 hardware so if you are installing windows 7 YMMV. You do not want any data you would like to keep on your drive, it will be formatted and your data deleted. * Start up your software, select your USB drive under what is usually called the "device" tab at the top. There should be a place to select your ISO file. With rufus this is near the bottom. * Give your USB drive a name (whatever you want, "windows10 64bit" or something) The other options should be good at default in the majority of cases. Let me know if there is an issue. * Click "start" and wait for it to finish. When it is done, disconnect it (preferrably in windows, close Rufus, then in the task bar on the bottom right you can click on "safely remove hardware" and find your newly named device and click on it to remove it.) Then take it (physically) out of your computer. * Now on the device you are installing windows on, have it off at first, plug in the USB drive you created, start the computer. On the splash screen for the motherboard it should say certain keys to go to the BIOS or a boot menu etc. You want to hit the key that loads up the boot menu, and then select your USB drive. It may have two options for your usb, if one does not work then try the other. You might have to restart to return to the splash screen if you go past this point and it loads whatever operating system is installed on the PC. If there is no operating system the PC should automatically load your USB drive and start the installation of windows. * Lemme know how it goes!

I'm considering getting this case. Are the extra fans necessary?
@periodicinsanity
7 жыл бұрын
Umbra.Sketch probably not if you're using modern parts and not overclocking. I would orient what ever fan config you have to have more intake than exhaust to avoid dust and help dissipate heat but most modern non-enthusiast parts probably don't need the extra airflow. that said, fans are pretty cheap. my personal preference would be 2 in front and 1 in back at the least but you could get away with less

mine did, don't know about others but you can see it right in the beginning when it stops spinning and zooms. should be the same on all the tesseracts I would think but maybe they changed something on the windowed models?

Why didn't you get the z170 for overclocking and faster ram?
@periodicinsanity
8 жыл бұрын
Overclocking the i5 6400 can only be done using the Base Clock method that is present on some z170 boards and will most likely run into stability or lifetime issues with the processor if overdone. The h170 is a bit more budget friendly, although it does suck you can't OC the RAM. Few games react to faster RAM though, the difference is usually nil for most. Essentially, I went with it because the features included on z170 over h170 would not have really affected the build besides faster RAM and the z170 costs more! It's just a cheaper solution for the same features. Had I paired it with a "K" series processor it would have been worth it to go with z170, but then you are out probably another ~100 dollars. Hope I made sense lol.
@mosk11tto
8 жыл бұрын
Yeah definitely makes sense, I just thought it because you had the cpu cooler and like you said in the video it was a little overkill. One more question, I'm thinking about getting this case and it has 2 led fans. My motherboard will be ASUS h110m-a which has only one 4 pin connector for case fan. So are the led fans 4 or 3 pin and should I get a cable that turn molex into 4 or 3 pin connectors?
@periodicinsanity
8 жыл бұрын
My case only came with one fan and it didn't have an LED (I added the LED fan in the front.) Mine was 3 pin and I would assume with 99% certainty that those fans with the windowed version i think you are talking about would be 3 pin. In fact I still have the fan that came with it because I took it out lol! I went and got it, it has a 3 pin and a molex connector. I can only assume, but I would guess they are the same so you shouldn't need any additional cables. This fan is a bit noisey when turned to point air upwards, dont know why but it seems okay in any other direction, also don't see a model number so I don't know what kind of bearings deepcool is using.
@mosk11tto
8 жыл бұрын
Oh you are right I'm talking about the windowed version, but thank you so much for the information now I don't need to worry about extra cables. I wasn't palnning to put the fan to exhaust upwards so that won't be a problem. I'll use the fans that come with the case and maybe in future upgrade to some better fans. But really thanks for everything, I had been thinking about the molex cable for some time and never thought the molex connector would come with the case.

Will this fit an ASUS Z170-A Motherboard and a EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB graphics card? Also are the fan connectors 3-pin or 4-pin. Reason being is that the Z170 only has 4-pin connectors on the board. Need to know ASAP please.

Are the stock fans that come with the case good enough because I plan to build a PC using this case. I plan to put in Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 Mobo, with a FX-8350, and a RX 480 8GB. I have no intention on overclocking so I ws also wondering if the stock fan that comes with the cpu is efficient. This is my first build so sorry if I don't know what I am doing. ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/GzpwzM
@periodicinsanity

My case only came with one fan, other models of the deepcool tesseract can come with two i believe. The fan from deepcool is just fine, a bit noisey when turned upside down but I think all sleeve bearing fans do that. The stock heatsink for AMD CPUs right now is generally bad - it cools "enough" but it is really loud when taxed, I would spend the couple bucks on something that will be quieter and cooler, you don't have to break the bank for it. That is a decent build you have going on but I'd opt for intel right now myself until AMD brings out Zen. I'd also consider getting a cheaper motherboard unless you intend to actually use all the features. If you went intel i'd go something like this similair to your budget: ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/fMhcTH and you could spend less on that build as well if you think about what you are going to use or not and decide a cheaper option would serve you just as well. Let me know what you think, I'm always up to help!

Thanks for the feedback I was also working on a intel build with a GTX 1060. Based on your suggestions this is what it looks like. ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/pTs4d6 If the CPU cooler isn't needed let me know, and also was wondering if you have any suggestions on the Mobo. I'd prefer something cheaper. After that I just have to decide on whether I want to go with a RX 480 or the GTX 1060 build.
@periodicinsanity
8 жыл бұрын
If you can go cheaper and don't need specific features you should just get a cheaper z97 board on PCPP, especially since you aren't that interested in overclocking. With the z97 you could mildly overclock it even on a cheap board with no worries, no need to reach for the stars to get a couple percent faster for free. You could also pick a bit faster DDR3 because you are using a z97 board. There is an ASROCK z97 for 89.99 which is good for basics, theres an ASUS z97-e/usb 3.1 that would give you all the newest features if you want or need them and it's still cheaper than the gigabyte one you have picked. You can save money there. I'd still spend that extra on a CPU cooler, its nice to have it cool AND quiet. You should actually get something shorter (and probably cheaper!) than the 212 evo, in the deepcool case that damn 212 evo was too tall to let me put side fans on. A smaller but effective cooler would be best.

It really depends on your needs. If you need a case with good airflow and more HDD bays, this is a fine budget case, but if you don't need that space and can compromise a little on airflow or want something smaller then I would look at other options in the price range.

No, actually, while it is true that you can use multiple optical drives at once, there are more purposes for the 5.25 bays then just optical drives. 4 drive bays is nothing to scoff at, as it is actually a benefit, because more device that can be slotted in, can really help your computer with expansion, later down the line.
