Chi was the coolest person in the band. He was the most willing to talk to fans. I just found out that he lost his battle. He will be missed. Much love Chi.

I worked for IBRF the foundation that was trying to bring him back. His family are very nice people. I used to drive his Mother, Jean, back and forth from her Hotel to the hospital

@@methman9212 They were doing a shit ton of coke while recording White Pony. Chino said during the making of Saturday Night Wrist, he had a really bad drug problem. Hence why his voice was shot a lot of time, and he’d gain weight. Long past those days, though. Around Diamond Eyes is when he started sobering up and taking care of himself and his voice.

Man, Chi was amazing. He gave the deftones that extra metal the band infused into their sound. I remember Chi tearing it up live in the late 90’s as well as a special guest with Down live at Ozzfest. Good times.

Chi Cheng was a monster on the bass guitar he was really good at his skills on bass. Is bass playing skills is up there with Lemmy Cliff Burton Jason Newsstand and Tom Araya and his bass line was a big impact on my life made me the bass player I am today I'm glad I got to see them in my day live with chi

I think Chi’s energy and presence is what really stuck out to me, he wrote some tasty ass grooves tho.. but Cliff?? Tom? Lemmy? Jason and let’s not forget bass Gods like Claypool, Vic Wuten, Geddy Lee, Geezer Butler and Ryan Martinie.. Chi fell quite a bit short in tha talent dept from those fellas

Chino Moreno Garcia yes he severely injured his vocal cords around this time. Rarely able to scream like he used to or hit high notes again

That was definitely the best time of Deftones. They just wrote their best record 'White Pony', Chi was still there, musically they were flying high, Chino was singing at his best. Miss those days!

Still got this on DVD. Forgot Chi had that short hair goin on! If I remember correctly, Chino was sick during this time..hence why he sounds off on a lot of the songs...especially Change.
