DEMACO extruders for pasta under construction. This video highlights the precision used by DEMACO to make machines. The large machine tools with broad working areas ensure accuracy across the entire part no matter how big. This is important to achieve perfect geometry and ensure precision in fit-up and alignment of all the internal assemblies that make up the machine. The heavy-duty welding, robust construction and the craftsmanship in the finishing all combine to create a rugged, highly reliable machine that provides consistency of production, year-after-year.
The single screw extruders shown make approximately 1,675 kilograms (3,700 pounds) of fresh short cut pasta / hour or approximately 1,360 kilograms (3,000 pounds) / hour dry pasta.
The stainless models shown in this video with the ground and polished welds on the frame are specifically designed for use in washdown USDA food manufacturing facilities. The harsh sanitation routine in these plants require a "brutally rugged" design that can withstand the daily washdowns required in a USDA foodplant. DEMACO also offers a variety of options for the frame and platform depending on the application.
Also shown is an all stainless-steel basin style mixer with twin paddle shafts for highly effective mix agitation / dough mixing. With respect to pasta production, superb performance in the mixer directly impacts the entire process.
For mixer construction, the all stainless mixer gearbox is mounted slightly away from the mixer basin so grease and oil from the bearings and gearbox cannot enter the mixer and contaminate the mix. The mixer shell is thick and fully welded with no cracks or crevices for hygienic operation. The mixer paddles are fully fused onto the shaft with generous weld material and a smooth polish for a complete sanitary finish.
