Leading into the Richmond race, Denny Hamlin and Speedway Motorsports’ Marcus Smith got into it on Twitter/X, and things got personal in a hurry.
Denny explains to co-host Jared Allen how there was more at the root of his Twitter beef with Marcus Smith than a photo of a pothole at Sonoma. Denny talks about being super frustrated because NASCAR and the teams aren't making progress with their negotiations, and it’s the track owners, like SMI, who receive the bulk of the TV revenue. But while the tracks might get the lion’s share of the money, they don’t necessarily reinvest it back into their facilities. That brings us back to the repaving issues at Sonoma and North Wilkesboro, and the Twitter/X exchange that made news.
