This interview was simply “damage control” for Derrick. Typical narc behavior to do whatever it takes to preserve one’s image. And while he took accountability for some of his actions, he still played victim at certain moments during the interview. I hope pt 2 has more accountability. Derek should not be praised just because he is admitting some of his stuff, and so called "being honest." HE GOT CAUGHT AGAIN AND AGAIN AND IT MESSED UP HIS MONEY! He has to be forthcoming to preserrve his image and business. But he mishandled his wife with that "bonnet" Facebook live and then he got caught again. Yes, forgiveness is the key, but if you keep violating in the same manner, it speaks to a deep character issue. Yes, Jesus will fix us, if we let Him, but you gotta yield the issue to Him. Cmon Derek, get some real Christ centered accountability and have several seats.

Listening to both parties show how important it is for people to heal before marrying. Marrying is a commitment and vow before God. We take it so lightly and treat like boyfriend and girlfriend. I am 34 and not married and I am working through my trauma because I don’t want my marriage to pay the price. Myles Munroe said a lot of people are broken up not because they don’t love each other but because they lack knowledge to make the relationship work. These two broken individuals got together requiring each one of them to be responsible for each others healing. 😢😢😢. How would you know... So broken people can not experience real love? Well... i do not agree. Jesus gave us HIS LIFE which is the highest form of LOVE to us, BROKEN people. We are short coming in thousands of ways... yet Jesus loved us. Some of us are CRIMINALS who have killed other people, but HE still came through for us! Therefore, i would argue that even BROKEN people can still experience REAL love among themselves because love is a gift from above and it has NOTHING to do with once being worthy of it. How they handle it, might differ from one individual to another. Some will reject it like some of us REJECTED the love of CHRIST. It still doesn't negate the fact that jesus gifted us with TRUE love. SO did aneya and D.J. They might have received the gift of TRUE LOVE. What they did with it, is up to them.

@freshdesign2026 Of course, broken people can experience real love. Like you said, it's what they do with it. When you continue to use that as a weapon against each other and don't deviate, then you may want to consider that it is not divine. At least not from the most high. I wish you healthy wellness. Who has not been broken at some time? The point is to ID the source and work to save yourself. Not continue to ask for more of the same from that source.

Great episode! I’m very pleased that both parties are being presented the opportunity to be heard and seen. There’s much grace to be given and received when it comes to dealing with infidelity in marriage. And this marriage unfolded in a most ugly way in front of everyone’s eyes. What he kept authentic is why he did this, as he mentioned, for the kids who'd see mummy and daddy later on. He needed to come up with something fast to save face. In my opinion this interview was a bit too premature for him to be authentic enough.... maybe do a follow up when this brother has healed a bit more from all the turmoil. He's a bit on the defensive side, so it could be a bit hard to get the gist of it all. Well, let me not pre-empt...... waiting for part 2, hopefully it may sound a bit different to me. But I pray for his and her healing.... this is too much to bear for both of them and the children.

@@Sashaspodcast perhaps she was tired of aborting babies which yes, BOTH of them should have used protection. I never heard her say she begged him for marriage nor he state she begged him. It was more of him wanting to have that ideal “family” which aligned with what other people thought of him vs what he actually was. I would agree that most women want an ideal family with mother and father under the same roof, but no one wants that under duress. At least not a normal, emotionally balanced person. @@Sashaspodcast I’ll also add sometimes I feel (keyword feel), that as women our emotions make us vulnerable. That vulnerability leads to not acting within logic when it comes to the opposite sex. It is a flaw in my opinion in our biological design. A logical person, would heal (therapy) after multiple violations (Rs) and stay far away from men until we can logically interact with them. A logical person would have viewed the dysfunction that is DJ and stay away as if he had the bubonic plague. A logical person, once they had the first kid, would have severed ties once no change was made by DJ. A logical person would respond to a person’s actions vs their potential. You're a wise sister. So many women choose their "type" instead of their "kind". When you choose your "type" it's all about the flesh and from the looks of this man, he was appealing to the flesh or lust of women. Godly men develop their character i.e. their inner man and that takes a lifetime of commitment. A woman needs to start choosing her "kind" but to do that, she needs to be so self-aware and emotionally whole. The single life is the time to build your relationship with God, identify your purpose, learn to trust God while you wait on Him, become self-aware, and develop healthy self-esteem, self-respect, and self-worth. When these things are in place, then God can connect you to a man on purpose for a purpose. Sexual temptations all around us are just too great for any of us to overcome in our strength that is why Holy Spirit's power is so vital in our lives. We should seek the presence of God and learn to hear the voice of His Spirit if we are to overcome the lusts of the flesh. I pray that true repentance and restoration will take place in their relationship.

It really taught me how to have grace for both parties involved. I think this is a conversation that is important to have so that we will have healing within our communities, especially in relationships that end in divorce. Many people want to cast judgment against the wrongdoer, but it is so important that the person who does wrong also gets to have their side heard and work on healing and becoming a better person. We cannot just bash this person for the rest of their lives, and not give them room to grow and course correct their lives for the better. I pray healing for both Da’naya and Derek Jackson.

I don’t know how I feel about this tbh. I feel the most for their children for the way this is playing out so openly. Like their business is OUT THERE on FRONT STREET now and can’t be taken back. I just hope the upmost effort is being put into shielding their identities from the public. While Denaia has her own issues and certainly has some accountability to take in this situation, ultimately Derrick was the one that rose to prominence, deceitfully sharing romantic advice and pandering to women while being a menace in his personal life. It’s honestly just messy and weird to me and as much as I hate the way narcissism is thrown around these days, this man is truly one. I just wonder if the roles were reversed and Denaia was the one cheating and giving relationship advice simultaneously as a mother if she would be given this much grace…
