Tim Floyd shoudl've won coach of the year for even winning 13 games in a 50 game season with this atrocity of a roster. Kornel David? Wow.

Kornel David (Dávid Kornél) was a useful, brench caliber player. The team was interested about him at 1997-1998 as well. ( no question, he was valuable, than Dickey.) Tim Floyd was the main problem there.

I PERSONALLY REMEMBER THE PISTONS BEATING THE BULLS TOWARDS THE END OF THE 97 SEASON IN DETROIT!!!! DOUG COLLINS WAS THE COACH AND HE WAS IN TEARS HAVING THE BULLS HAND HIM THE GAME.... I WAS PISSED BCUS AS A KID I REALLY WANTED THEM TO HAVE BACK-TO-BACK 70-WIN SEASONS, WITH THAT GAME BEING ONE OF THE LAST GAMES OF THE SEASON, AND THE ANNOUNCERS WOULD CALCULATE THEIR FINISHING RECORD DEPENDING ON THE OUTCOMES OF THE GAMES, AND THEY THREW MOST OF THEIR LAST 6 OR 7 GAMES SO THE KNICKS AND HEAT WOULD WIND UP WITH PLAYOFF POSITIONS THAT WOULD PIT THEM AGAINST EACH OTHER AND THIS WOULD GUARANTEE THE BULLS WOULD ONLY HAVE TO FACE ONE, AND NOT BOTH!!!!

Management. Dick head wanted to build a new younger team. Jerry made it clear he didn't want Phil back and was talking about trading Pippen. Pip wanted to leave in 97 as there was a lot of shit going on behind closed doors that not everyone knew about. Mike said he would only play for Phil and with Pippen too. They could have done a few sign and trade deals to get younger talent but kept Phil, Pip, Jordan, Kukoc and Kerr. They could have signed for Divac. They got Barry anyway but could got McDyess to keep or trade. They should have traded for players such as C.Webb, Camby and Ben Wallace. This would have helped them in years to come.

They sure were after Krause and Reinsdorf broke up the dynasty and trading Scottie Pippen and releasing Dennis Rodman forcing M.J to announce his retirement due to his ongoing feud with Krause which led to Phil Jackson leaving Chicago having to replace him with Tim Floyd and with many young inexperienced players, Chicago regressed from a championship winning team to an equivalent to an expansion team. 1999-2004 sure were the dark ages but thankfully Chicago is doing good now over the past few years.

Even if they had kept the core for the 1998-99 season I don't think the Bulls would have gotten past the Pacers or the Spurs that season. The Pacers were already deep team with a lot of front court depth already when they added Sam Perkins for the 98-99 season. I think the Pacers depth (that gave the Bulls trouble the year before) and the confidence (taking the Bulls to the brink of elimination and actually controlled the tempo for the most part in Game 7 of the 1998 Conference Finals) would have been enough to finally dethrone the mighty Bulls. Even if they got lucky and won the East, the Bulls would have struggled mightily with David Robinson and Tim Duncan (who came into his own after stellar rookie season) playing at a high level in a 7 game series. Longley, Wennington, Kukoc and Rodman would not been handle all that size in the middle. Lets not forget the Bulls struggled against Karl Malone and Antoine Carr the year before. Age, fatigue and the pressure of winning would have gotten to this team at some point to where they would lose in the playoffs. The 1998 season showed the Bulls were starting to regress some even though they still dominated. Can't blame only Jerry Krause for the collapse of the dynasty.

silent 29dd I disagree. I think the Bulls would've won again. With a shortened season (only 50 games) that would've been good for an older team. Also even though that Pacers series went 7 games it really should've been a 5 game series had they called that foul for Reggie pushing off on MJ in game 4. Plus in 99 an 8th seed Knicks got to the finals. As far as the Spurs I believe they would've beat them as well. Rodman could always play big men well so put him on Duncan most likely and Luc on Robinson. All of the Bulls centers were interchangeable so fouls wouldn't have been an issue.
