Grazie!

How many mph do you think this model can sustain without taking too much damage? Where I live, the winds can be upwards of 50 mph or 80 kph.

I have read your book about this wind turbine. Would you be so kind as to tell me at what wind speed and how many watts of electricity you got from it?

When I spread the sails, the wind turbine starts to work in a wind of about 15, up to 2 meters per second. As soon as the wind speed exceeds 5-6 meters per second I have to start reducing the sails, so that the turbine is not damaged. The obtained energy changes very quickly with the wind speed, the power depends on the third power of the wind speed. A slightly stronger wind gives a lot more power. With the sails gathered, it starts to work in winds of 7-8 meters per second. as soon as the 1 kw generator starts spinning, supply voltage and charge the batteries. For now, I don't have a mechanism that would automatically retract and extend the sails. I don't have enough knowledge about microcontroller programming. Weak winds provide little energy, but provide a much greater number of hours of operation, which reduces the need for batteries. In my experience, it is best to have three sails. With a larger number of sails, the front sails would create eddies with the sails that are behind, and the rear sails could, at certain moments, even slow down the rotation.

In 2007, I showed the results of my measurements to some university professors, and they replied that they did not believe it. I told them all to bring their instruments and let them measure whatever they wanted. They all wanted me to pay for it, and they would charge more than I spend on building the prototype. However, some others took measurements. A university in Australia published results that I recently found; ro.uow.edu.au/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1958&context=engpapers aip.scitation.org/doi/full/10.1063/1.4943093 This turbine was also developed by a medium-sized company in the Czech Republic. kzitem.info/news/bejne/kY-ez4l7haZoZY4 They published their measurement results, but some world scientific "authorities" told them they were lying. The prototype was made by order of the army, with the requirement that the turbine be portable and that it can be quickly placed in a new position, or moved to another position. That's why they put the turbine on the container, not on the ground. When they were shown the prototype, the army refused the order under the pretext that the model was too expensive. And it is expensive because in the price structure, the container and the lifting mechanism make up the vast majority of the cost. After that, they gave up on further work on it. There were other manufacturers who gave up production after developing a prototype. One in Britain was also ordered for development by the US Army. kzitem.info/news/bejne/06SDl4aus5h6l6Q When production was supposed to start, the army gave up under the pretext that they did not have a patent for all the parts. A Chinese company started a campaign to sell what they had announced on Amazon. kzitem.info/news/bejne/zXts33iKj4RkaJg After a month, the company disappeared from the Chinese register of companies, and the ad for sale from Amazon was also removed. Compared to the above models, my latest model has several additional advantages. 1) has a mechanism for retracting and expanding the sails. 2) It can be mounted by one man without the use of truck cranes. 3) The generator is located on the ground, and is easy to lubricate, service, or replace in case of failure.

----- (en) I like the idea of the sail system. Share your experience, how much electricity did you get from this generator at wind speeds of 1.5 meters per second, 3 meters per second, 5 meters per second? I would be very grateful if you could share your experience.
