We diagnose and repair an issue with a Dewalt compound miter saw model DW703 Type 1. It comes in and won't start caused by an easy to fix customer caused problem.
We go through the full diagnostic process to get the saw fixed if it won't work, starts and then stops, works intermittently or sparks from the motor.
We check the electric cord, switch and brushes to find and fix the issue.
This is the same or similar problem, diagnosis and design on many of the other miter saws.
This saw has an electric brake which is why one side of the switch is normally closed (brake) and the other is normally open (power). many times the legs will connect horizontally instead of vertical. You can look at the back of the switch and it will tell you which way the connection works.
