I eat a lot of peanuts. I never knew they grew in the ground till a few years ago. Good video. Pax.

Love your videos as usual. Really love the shot of the peanut digger going past at the end of the video. Keep up the good work

Many of the truckers I hired to haul corn up here in the Texas North Plains were always ready to move on to harvest peanuts...I guess the pay must be good.

I've really enjoyed your post. Thank you. Just wondering how many acres is your farm? Are you the first generation to farm or was your father and grandfather farming this land? Again thank you for posting.

@@conleybanman I love the fact that you and your brothers are keeping it going. I hope you are able to stick with it. I've seen too many family farms that were started by the grandparents or great grandparents cease operation for one reason or another. Usually because the latest generation was simply too lazy to put in the hard work to keep it going. They chose to sell out, take the money and run. Truly shameful.

are y'all every going to consider upgrading peanut combines? or stick with the current ones for longer
@conleybanman

One day we might upgrade. But with peanut equipment there’s not usually a upgrade in technology as far as threshing goes

Could you not push the drawbar off to the side instead of taking it off out of curiosity? I have to do that with some of our rigs though I don’t run a hammer strap much so might be different if I was. Great video.

Yea we tried that and it’s barely not enough. But yea if I could I would

With a 2 row or 6 row, you can keep the drawbar on. With a 4 row or 8 row, it needs to come off

Hey Conley, could you repeat what diseases got into your peanuts. I know that there is a whole host of fungus and diseases that once they get into the soil it is hard to control.

This was a bit of sclarotinia, pod rot, and just the vines naturally crashing all mixed together. Don’t worry it can’t harm you or make you sick it just affects the plants and not the peanuts. Pod rot will affect the peanuts but that’s just a rotten peanut and majority the combine will throw out the back of the machine
