Man I am super late to this party, but your response to this just charmed my socks off. They are weird as hell, and utterly delightful when it matches something weird inside yourself, or grabs your curiousity. Awesome reaction :)

You just discovered the number one beast (no typo) vocalist out there today, and also one of the most diverse "metal" bands you'll ever find. Keep it up!

Loved the reaction! You're spot on when you say "I think there's more to this band" because it's 120% true. They have everything from straight up deathcore to this type of song and even very calm ballads. I would like to suggest Dir en Grey - Behind a vacant image live for another song from them, I love it and I think you will like it too!

I discovered them 1 year ago and totally love them. They have a lot of different styles. Their unique style is not for everybody, but when they win you over, you are sold for life. My personal favorites are Vinushka, Uroko and Shokubeni. All very worth checking out.

Let me just say this: This band is a rabbit hole. I've seen them live 13 times and I'd be willing to spend all my cash to see them live more. I've met people that seen them live 100+ times. There's an international community of fans that literally follow this band around the entire globe. Anyways, have fun with them in case you decide to check out more. My recommendation would be the subbed live of "Tousei" from the same live DVD kzitem.info/news/bejne/tI6czouLhqaShX4

I'm glad to see more people getting interested in dir en grey, they've been my favorite band for around 8 years now and it's true they have many different sides and styles they play, so it takes a few songs to really see what they're about, at least that's my experience, but that's one thing I really like about them, they have a song for any mood I'm looking for musically. I'd probably recommend their song "Vinushka", this performance in particular is the best: kzitem.info/news/bejne/o4yep4p-nKdepWU it's one of their longer and more progressive tracks, but it's one of the songs that really solidified them as my favorite band

This was a great reaction, thank you! ^-^ Dir en grey are around since 1997 and never had a line-up change. They have 10 full studio records and so many different styles. You are right: They are not easy to get into but SO rewarding! Behind a Vacant Image and Vinushka are two good suggestions! If you want to hear streight up growling go to Decayed Crow, The Inferno or the Kiri to Mayu remake. Or you could go with a song that sums up a lot of their styles in just under 5 minutes kzitem.info/news/bejne/o4x4toZsjGdeono I never saw someone do a reaction to this. The song is called "Yokusou ni DREAMBOX" Aruiwa seijuku no rinen to tsumetai ame. But you can call it dreambox and everyone will know the one XD By the way, your pronunciation was good! In Europe the first one you did dominates, with the German 'dir' sound, in America the second one. In Japanese it is written as diru an gurei with the u almost silent which is more close to European pronunciation :) Someone else already mentioned them, the singer's second band sukekiyo. I would very highly recommend to listen to Elisabeth Addict. Sukekiyo is even more experimental and artistic. You will not find any of that in Elisabeth Addict but at the moment they experiment a lot with electronic/industrial sounds and their lives are like theatre. Have fun exploring ^^

You're saying it right! Deer In Grey, basically (Durr Angry is the funnier option, but a lot less accurate (especially on a song like this; they have some very aggressive tunes!)). You pronounced 88 basically correctly, too. Hachi yuu hachi. I was kinda so-so on this song the first few times I heard it, but over the years it's turned into one of my absolute favorites. It's not weird by DEG standards, but it's definitely odd. Kyo is doing all sorts of King Diamondy vocal acrobatics here. Tak for at gi' dem en chance! \o/

React to them more please. Dir en grey music isn't simple to get into. If you react to more of them, you will see how talented they are. React to sukekiyo - Elisabeth addict live ver. Dir en grey singer he is also the singer in sukekiyo. But sukekiyo is more progressive.

My favorite one is Macabre (Tabula Rasa live). Actually if you are ready to listen to more complicated and progressive music - this one might be for you. I feel like I love it so much because of how complex and deep the structure and the meaning are. Highly recommend. But if you want something more aggressive and rough - Obscure is a go to (my favorite is that one kzitem.info/news/bejne/kZ-aq5iwpHtlZn4) Honestly I have two Japanese bands that always live in my heart. These are Dir en grey and the Gazette so if you want to continue your journey to the land of Japanese music it would be nice to see a reaction to the Gazette - Deux live Best regards!

Hello my friend. It‘s friday evening. Do me favour: Get yourself a whiskey and a cigarette, dim the light, turn up the music and do a reaction to „Tin pin alley“ by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Johnny Copeland. You‘ll get why.
