Pinot Gris is better known as Pinot Grigio; in New Zealand (from where this wine hails), calling it "Gris" is an attempt to position it away from mainstream and bland "Grigio". We discuss how Pinot Gris is actually a colour mutation of Pinot Noir, so be bolder than we see many Grigio examples being.
We taste a good and inexpensive example from Freeman's Bay in NZ, bought in Aldi for £5.79.
