thank you for the video. for a long while my prints have had layer shifts in them and I just noticed my hot end / nozzle had a wiggle in it but the nozzle was snug in the hot end. Turns out I had the same issue as you. My heatsink was a full quarter turn loose. I just fixed it and redid a first layer calibration and am now doing my first print since the fix. We will see how it goes. But I am sure a lot of the layer shifting I had should now be fixed.

Just found this site after trying to clear a blockage where the filament would stop just past the drive gear. I tried the 'Quick fix' of winding up the temperature to 295, just smelt funky, no result. Thank to this no 'bullshit and bubble gum' approach clip, I found 3mm of filament blocking the entrance to the PTFE tube. Subscribed and will catch-up later tonight to the sound of my Prusa backing group.

I had something happen a while ago with a filament which filled the print head I only opened the side door of the feed area and had to chip the materiel out. Has not worked 100 % since then. Maybe I will try what you showed in this video to see what else is wrong. thanks for the video.

Salut Frank!

What's that Prusa labeled orange thingy? Is that a mod? It's kanda cool as it looks like its giving a visual cue that the filament is being fed. How is that installed? I just got done with your install video and this will surely help my install when my Mk3s+ comes. TIA.

I'd like to note for anyone who's considering this and would like to learn from my mistakes - always do this with the nozzle on, otherwise the heat break gets screwed in and you get contact between the hot end and the colder areas of the extruder assembly. The nozzle and the heat break share the same thread. This means that the heat break can go further in leaving the nozzle not being able to go all the way. The consiquense in my case was that the filament stopped extruding right after the initial loading.

@Franks3Dshop

Hi I have been good, a lot of things are happening and it's great it keeps me occupied! Do you mean the original board for the mini? Depending on your exact model you can find the correct board here: www.mpselectmini.com/parts/mainboard#replacements You can even get a silent board, meaning a board with higher steps/mm and smoother quieter operations, I think I will get one and try it !

Exactly. The hot end was exposed i.e. some stuff were dismantled but the actual hot end was not dismantled. The whole process of dismantling the hot end is much more complicated, and only ~50% of the work was shown here. The rest (~50%) was missing. I was looking for the guidance video as I wish to replace my current hot end with a new one. This video didn't bring me to the goal, must look for some better.
