This song is part of the English version of the French musical "Notre Dame de Paris" based on Victor Hugo's novel. The entire French show is posted on here if you want to see it. Unfortunately, there aren't many clips of the English version. A lot of die hard fans (like me) will tell you that the English version got lost in translation, and they prefer the French to the English. This song, however, is one of my favorites. Anyway, I love the editing job of this vid. It's beautiful.

Nope, it's the english version of the Song 'Belle' from the French Play: Notre Dame de Paris. Its much better in French. If you wanna hear it just type in 'Belle Notre dame' and the first one will probably be the french version.

I love how it all fit together very well. This is my favorite disney movie because they didn't totally tame the story. You can see in this video that all the real emotion from the book and musical was indeed in this movie. Awesome video!

wow. I actually love this song in it;s italian and english version, and you did an AMAZING job!!!! As for: does she bear the cross of all our human sin", it's actually showing how far Frollo has fallen, it's an allusion to jesus and virgin mary, that despite her gypsy nature she has to be a saint for him to be so obsessed with her. Then he concludes she's from hell, but ah well... ANYWAY! it's wonderful!

Well, the movie is indeed a children's movie, there's nothing else it can be called. It's childish and happy. The novel "Notre-Dame de Paris" on the other hand is a completely different.

a shell is an outer body or covering. a shell of a person is someone who has no soul, only a physical body. they have no substance or personality to them, they just exist. if you have ever read the harry potter series, an example of a shell is someone who was kissed by a dementor. i guess that the word that i'm looking for is soulless. hope that helps!

@Cheyanneasaurusrex Oh my god same here! When i was 5 i saw it at a friends house and did not understand a thing, but i still loved it. I would sing Hellfire around the house all the time. But then in third grade i read the novel because i loved the movie , but then realized all the themes of lust and infedlity. And rape and stuff...FROLLOS MY LLOOVVVEE!

Okay, I haven't got to see Notre Dame de Paris (yet) so I was wondering if they actually kept Jehan Frollo in it. It seems like he's the one character that none of the adaptations keep. I guess because it kinda takes some of the hate off of Claude Frollo, but still... I've heard that this musical is the most faithful, and if they kept him in it, it would be pretty much perfect.

Well, after listening to the original French version, this one seems to lack 3 important things: the lytrics are loosely transalted (of course everything gets lost in translation), Patrick Fiori as Phoebus (this other guy is not that bad but I don´t like it that much), third, the sumptous and decadent feeling of French cadence over English. Still good.

The song is based off the French Canadian Play of Notre Dame de Paris. This is the Translated version of the song from the shorter-English play. So really, this movie is a rip off of the book by Victor Hugo

Sorry but i think that Disney should have never done this movie. The story doesn't suit a children's movie A T A L L!Since i was a child i already understood that something didn't make sense...Why was Frollo always hanging around the cathedral if he was "a judge"?And why was he feeling so bad and wrong about loving Esmeralda? Then i saw the musical, i read the novel and i understand it all!A good-hearted and single Phoebus?Clopin as a sort of funny jester? All good guys surviving?Nah please!

I think this is cinematically overrated and even hypocritical movie: personality counts but let´s add fat jokes to tell kiddies that bullying is not always bad and let´s turn Frollo as an old Medieval Hitler while young and strapping Phoebus is cleansed as a good guy., However, I like Hellfire
