In this video I show how i build a forge from an old air compressor. I need a heat treating forge for some up coming projects so I figured this is the perfect time to build it.
I start by dismantling the air compressor to use the tank as the forge body. Once the take is stripped from all its paint I treated the metal with rust converter.
I lined the tank with a ceramic blanket to help retain the heat and added fire bricks so that my metal has a nice surface to lie on. I used refractory cement to "glue" the ceramic blanket to the walls. The blanket was then hardened using ceramic fiber rigidizer. Finally I coated the forge in a high temp paint. I decided to put together a simple venturi burner as these burners are easy to make and work well.
I hope you guys enjoy, if you do leave a like and a comment. Subscribe if you would like to see more awesome content ;).
