Thank you for continuing to post these; it’s sure gotten the creative juices flowing. How are you reaming the chamber of the Redman liner?

I'd like to think I'm above these shameful builds, but the people have spoken. I might have one more. As for the chamber, while it can be done with a drill or ECM, I'm a bit of a tool junkie, 22lr reamers are among the cheapest of chamber reams. I've seen them as cheap as $30 new on ebay. Even buying a quality Manson or Clymer reamer from Brownells would be under $65. Investment in the right tool for the job might entice you to build even more ! For about $100 you can get a 25" liner and a chamber ream. Thst would work out to $5-10 per barrel depending on length.

@alanmurray5963 I have a 50a plasma cutter, does that count? In all seriousness, I'd like a 40'ish watt laser for engraving. I kinda feel like that's the next step in DIY guns. Make them a little more unique and provide that "finished" look.

Quick question, why tap the id of the 1/4 pipe nipple? Why not just use a reducer fitting to go from 1/4 to 1/8?
@jimafcarbon4433
3 ай бұрын
100 ways I'm sure. Maybe more. With your way, the breech plug could be captured between the main body and the coupler.
@stellarjay1694

Thanks for the quick response. Oh im sure there are 100 ways to accomplish the same goal, i was just curious if there wasa specific reason why. My thinking was more along the lines of "if you used a reducer to go from 1/4 to 1/8 then it would provide something more substantial to grab and twist, would create a thicker wall section at the breech and it would be even simpler because i wouldnt need a tap and die set" Mainly because then one could get away with jb weld epoxing a nail into a plain hole for the bolt rather then the hex screw. Cool build you came up with, think ill dremel out another section on the other side of the slide that doesn't quite reach the chamber to create a spot for a "safety" of sorts.

@stellarjay1694 certainly not my idea, they've been building these for 100 years. These are terrible really. But everyone's first build. Instead of putting much effort into improving these, We should move on to better projects quickly. The PSMSA by Professor Parabellum's is a great start: kzitem.infotfABwm7EyIo?feature=share
