Have you painted your rocker cover? What colour did you pick?

I polished the shiny bits first, then RED wrinkle. I think it helps a bit with the valve train noise

I did mine red, at first I liked it, but it kind of changed colour over time and the red looks more pinkish now. I prefer a deeper colour wrinkle red (more wine red).. but also like the dark greyish wrinkle colour like on an S20 motor cover. I think black looks good also. I got a cheap second hand cover to experiment with. I'm gonna collect as many old L series covers as possible and try a few different styles. All good fun, but I'm finding L-engines are getting rare these days.

The S20 grey would look amazing. I can appreciate the “hording” parts also. I’ve been stashing N42 heads 😉

Mine was meant to be a black wrinkle powder coat but ended up pretty smooth??? Also had the raised sections machined so still looks pretty good. Also heard that black is better for heat dissipation? Old wives tale? Your guess is as good as mine! Keep up the good work.

I didn’t even think about black emitting heat better! Perhaps it will.

How did you take off the top breather tube? Id imagine you had to heat it up first then twist off?

Mine unscrewed with little effort. I think I was lucky somehow.
