Our two as pups were so destructive, just their lil puppy energy bursts they used to have when we first started leaving them for longer times, they'd rip up the carpet under the floor of the crate, just two lil squares at each end 😂, under the piles of blanket I use to kit it out with 😂. They were crate trained until 2 years. They loved it as a bed, a place to have long treats as well as a toy place. I made sure they saw it as part of the furniture as well as theirs & safe. I'd incorporate games with it too. They loved tight spaces. They still can't sleep on different sofas or spaces for long, they curl around each other, like true bullies, covering their faces from the world. They grew out of it within the first 3 months. It would happen occasionally if we made the mistake of leaving things near it. That was a whole fun game for them. They are very intelligent but playful with curiosity.

FYI our first BT had separation anxiety at a very young age and used to chew her tail which was distressing. Vet suggested putting her on medication but we were very reluctant to put such a young dog on medication but he assured us it should work. It worked for her so for the benefit of any owners in the same situation don't be too disturbed about medication for this condition. We lost her 10 years ago and I still miss her :((

nice, i never had to worry about that! :) I got my girl when she was 5 months and by that time she never cared if someone left. + she never destroyed anything except some toilet paper while staying home alone. And no i dont crate my dog when leaving the house, even if she would destroy stuff. Hours in a small box? Nope.
