I need some help, Everytime I do some calculations I do them without the side equations that our teachers wants us to write and I almost never get them wrong, but my teacher says that it’s “too simple” and that “I will always get it wrong”. So what the heck should I tell my teacher. For example: I have to figure out what 1+([1+1]x2) is, I directly know that it is 5 but my teacher wants me to write a lot of stuff to figure it out. ( of course it is oversimplified but you get the point)

@xXJ4FARGAMERXx

You can't just write the answer, you need to write how you got to that answer. For example, 1+5×3-(2+5) = ? You have to write: 1+5×3-(2+5) 1+5×3-(7) 1+5×3-7 1+15-7 16-7 9 This will be very useful when you have big equations so that you make sure you never make a mistake. For example: Solve for y given that x = 8 √( (x-5)² + (y-3)² ) = √10 First, square both sides to get rid of the square root (x-5)² + (y-3)² = 10 Now substitute the value of x = 8 (8-5)² + (y-3)² = 10 (3)² + (y-3)² = 10 9 + (y-3)² = 10 Now subtract 9 from both sides 9 + (y-3)² -9 = 10 -9 9 - 9 + (y-3)² = 10 - 9 0 + (y-3)² = 1 (y-3)² = 1 Now take the root of both sides √( (y-3)² ) = √( 1 ) y-3 = 1 Now add 3 to both sides y-3 +3 = 1 +3 y - 3 + 3 = 1 + 3 y + 3 - 3 = 4 y + 0 = 4 y = 4

I do a neat trick called cutting corners as much as possible when doing any tasks.
@JonathanMandrake
2 жыл бұрын
I have to add one thing: This isn't black and white, this is a gradient. For example, once every now and then, there is an assignment that is mostly fixed, but if you're clever enough, you can find a way to do it a lot faster. And, if you either already know the trick that is to be taught or are better than your classmates, variable tasks can become fixed because your speed is only limited by the speed you can write it down. Just as an example: Math assignment: Add up all the numbers from 1 to 100. You can either do all additions by hand, or you can write it up differently: 1+100+2+99+3+98+...+50+51=101+101+101+..=50*101=5050. At that point, you can even say that in general 1+2+3+...+n=n(n+1)/2. One is extremely long for big n, and you have to do a lot more work if the n changes, the other is as fast as you can write it down.
