That does not mean though it can't be helped in self cleaning... I mean most of "detox" or "cleanses" are in fact useless or even dangerous, but "body can clean itself" isn't the sole reason they are useless. I feel it creates a picture that you shouldn't worry about your body damage removal at all... While for example liver can be badly damaged if it is overused with crappy diet. Hydration, fiber and in some cases medication helps a lot.

TW: Eating Disorders Salt water flushing was huge among online eating disorder communities like 15yrs ago, as a way to "drop pounds super fast" by "getting rid of water weight". One girl was super hyped cuz she was down 6 pounds within a couple of days, then she went silent. The next thing we saw from her account was a post from her sister, telling us she was in hospital and had nearly died. For someone whose body is already super compromised like that, it was an even worse idea than it would be for a healthy person. But, of course, people in that community kept doing salt water flushes anyway, cuz eating disorders just make people that desperate to make our brains stop torturing us. Please, PLEASE don't try this ridiculous, dangerous trend.

I don't even watch such idiotic videos, they're far too frequently not only not right, they're not even wrong. I remember one that was debunked by an airline pilot, where the "influencer" told the audience to run in random directions away from a burning aircraft. A 16 year old girl did just that, ran into the smoke and had her head run over by a responding firetruck, killing her instantly. The only casualty of the incident, which was an engine fire. The aircraft got a new engine and was returned to service, the girl wasn't as fortunate.

If you need to clean out your intestines (you don’t unless you’re constipated), we have these things called laxatives. And if you are having trouble with that, consider a fiber supplement or dietary changes.

@@yoeyyoey8937 2 tsps is over 8 grams. Recommended daily intake is 3 grams. On top of that, sodium usually taken as a solid not a solution. 2 very important distinctions that you keep overlooking.
@yoeyyoey8937
Жыл бұрын
@@waroftheworlds2008 sodium is always in solution. In solid form you cannot absorb it. Salt is sodium chloride and when it’s dissolved in water or food, or in your mouth or stomach, it becomes sodium(+) and chloride(-) ions which are then absorbed by the body And that’s the daily RDA but I don’t think the RDA for sodium is right…I actually got heat stroke following the RDA on accident (I wasn’t eating too much salty food at the time) due to low sodium, so now I take a tsp of salt with water on top of what I normally eat when it’s hot. And I make sure to eat more salty food now after that experience. If you’re sedentary and at risk for sodium related issues then it’s probably a good idea to keep it low sodium but I’m not personally convinced it’s right for everyone or most people.
